View Full Version : DNS problems?

I'm suddenly unable to connect to sb.pns.net (or sbp.pns.net) because of DNS failures. It appears to be not only my DNS, either: the tools at http://www.dnsstuff.com aren't able to resolve either host, although they can resolve www.seventeenorbust.com just fine. Here are some details, in case they are helpful:

DNS Lookup: sb.pns.net ALL record
Generated by www.DNSstuff.com

How I am searching:
Searching for ALL record for sb.pns.net at l.root-servers.net: Got referral to M.GTLD-SERVERS.net. [took 94 ms]
Searching for ALL record for sb.pns.net at M.GTLD-SERVERS.net.: Got referral to ns2.dividezero.net. [took 251 ms]
Searching for ALL record for sb.pns.net at ns2.dividezero.net.: Timed out. Trying again.
Searching for ALL record for sb.pns.net at ns1.dividezero.net.:

DNS Lookup: www.seventeenorbust.com ALL record
Generated by www.DNSstuff.com

How I am searching:
Searching for ALL record for www.seventeenorbust.com at j.root-servers.net: Got referral to H.GTLD-SERVERS.NET. [took 101 ms]
Searching for ALL record for www.seventeenorbust.com at H.GTLD-SERVERS.NET.: Got referral to ns1.qtm.net. [took 134 ms]
Searching for ALL record for www.seventeenorbust.com at ns1.qtm.net.: Reports www.seventeenorbust.com. [took 50 ms]

EDIT: seems to be back up now. Apparently, whoever "dividezero.net" is came back on line. Seems a little odd to me that the two domain names resolve through such different paths, but maybe there's a reason, perhaps related to redundancy. After all, a little extra added redundancy can be helpful as well as beneficial...

Yeah, we use different dns servers for that reason. I had a problem with my DNS box which caused dns to be down for a bit.
