hi,

Just noticed that I have been (slowly) chugging away for 589 days and I wondered who is might be the longest reasonably steady contributor.

Noticed CyberWire at number 12 in overall production with 654 days. Does anyone know of anyone with a longer reasonably steady contribution?

great news, CyberWire!

I'd love to use a few work machine (and even have permission), but last time I tried there was a problem when the SBClient tried to connect to the server. Something about the firewall at work, I guess.

Anyone have any ideas for getting this to work (not that I'll ever manage to catch up to you, CyberWire :))?

not sure about your issue... did you try searching this forum for the word firewall?

I've been here 815 days, but don't actively run anything. I'm still moderating the coordination threads though, so maybe you can count me as an active old-timer too. :p

i'm a member for 817 days (as of today) but my last test was more than a year and a half ago. I still lurk around here once in a while though.

1 machine - well it isn't hand cranked is what I will say for it

About 60 hours until next test is finsihed. Average is getting to something like 40 days now. How do I sign up for the baby sized tests that won't stress my machine too much?

I think about sieving or factoring but given the damage I do to the machine when I physically play with the hardware, it is easy to backup and recover the test , whereas with sieving and factoring I currently have no idea about fallback strategies.

You just have to use "secret" or "supersecret" (without "") as username. You won't be credited for your work, though...

When sieving, the only relevant information is the current position and the factors found so far - which means you have to save fact.txt and SoBStatus.dat

When factoring, it's basically the same (position and factors backup-worthy) - but AFAIR, there is no explicit information about the current status, which means you have to save at least the latest test file.

855 days for me. There was a time in the beginning of the project when I wasn't running it. I think that was because the client was spending more time connecting to the server than it was working. I miss the days of those 1 minute or under k/n pairs.
