P4 machines rock in SOB. With new client performance increase up to 250%. In my AMD 64 3000+ got only 20-30 % increase.

I know, but the enemy's got P4s too :)

My P4-M 2.2 does about 1.1 McEMs/sec. Not bad compared to the value before, but still to little to impress the AMD users :(

I've signed up my 2.4GHZ P4. This new client is definitely speedy :)

Man that sse2 client makes a big difference, I installed it on my laptop from work Pentium M 1.4ghz, and it is almost as fast as my athlon 2500+ my 1.6ghz p4 at work is almost twice as fast. :trash:

I think I am going to buy an AMD64, after christmas :-(

It would be really cool if you could win prizes by finding the primes they are looking for. Someone should donate some prizes.

Gah! I remember when we where in the top 5 in this project and I use to have it running on 20+ p4's. Wish I still had the university computers at my disposal

Are you sure? I tried to create a SOB FreeDC_AMD_Team but I am having difficulties. Probably I will crunch under my nick.

Just put a P4 2.4 HT on with 2 instances running, also put on a Celeron 2.8 533. They both are registering on the sob site so will see how they do. Both are SSE2. You'll see me at the bottom of the list to start with. :)

I just added one AMD 1100 Mhz, one AMD 64 3000+ and one P4 3.0GHz (one instance).:D

Well Carlos, it doesn't look good for trying to salvage this from Team Norway. They curently have 63 tests pending. We only have 7 people that show as crunching. So without more people crunching the computers can be put to better use elsewhere, like in your case d2ol for your amd team. I'm going to pull mine off. If down the road there is more committment to this then I'll look at it again.

How many of your machines are running SOB? Only 4!
My AMD processors are running something else but soon I will change to SOB. I can't right now because I am at university.

Okay, will give it a couple more days to see what develops, have put the 2.4c and celeron 2.8 533 back on the sob units.

Carlos However many there are now...
there will be :smoking: :smoking: more by tomorrow afternoon :D :D

I bought this rig specifically for these MATH type projects for Team Free-DC.

My brother TeeJay chose this project for me to burn in my new tiny XEON on.
:scared: :scared: ;)

(hint) Any tips for running 4 clients at once? :rotfl:

0. This ONLY works on Windows NT/2K/XP and with SB version 1.1.0 (or above)
1. You should run sb120.exe FIRST (to install sb.exe, sign up for an account, etc.)
and configure the logging, connection, priority, etc. options however you wish.
2. Do NOT check the "Auto-start on Windows Boot" box.
3. Exit the Seventeen or Bust client
4. Unpack the contents of this zip file into the "Program Files\sb" directory
(or wherever you installed the SB client initially)
5. Did I mention that this ONLY works on NT/2K/XP (not on 9x/Me)?
6. In the "Program Files\sb" directory, run "sobsvc -i" to install the service.
7. Use the Services control panel to start the newly-installed service, which is
called "Seventeen or Bust service" (or re-boot if you prefer)

To change the number of clients which are run:

1. run "sobsvc -4:<num>" where <num> is the number of clients you wish to run
2. Restart the service

sobsvc -i
then
sobsvc -P:4

for H/T support with Dual Xeons right?
Anything else I should do to make the NOS pressure increase? ;)

Sorry for the mistake. Should be sobsvc -P:4.
I am not an intel P4 HT expert.

Funny but I installed using sobsvc -2. The machine was running two instances!

I used sobsvc -p:4:0 and have 4 clients running :D

On this Dual Xeon 3.6, each client appears to be doing a shade over 1,000,000 each

About 4.2 millon cEMs/sec :D
1 block every minute! :rotfl: (48 blocks done in 45 minutes runtime)
