Hi,

guess nobody's running SOB at the moment but perhaps people are running it again after this news: There is an new client out with an incredible 250% speed improvement - if you've got a SSE2 processor.

Check out http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7599

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ detected. Enabling cpu specific optimizations.

Says nothing about SSE2 ? 855,000 cEMs/sec on a 2GHz proc.

From what TeeJay says about a XEON 2.8's performance,
I guess I'll just put it back on F@H to catch FoBot. :)

But I had to 'benchmark' it right? ... ;)

BTW, Team 60 = Free-DC, in case someone wants to jump in with a few XEONs :D

Tested a P4 "Celeron" 2.4 for a few hours today; 1,285,000 cEMs/sec.

Would be one heck of a project for Angus with all those P4's he had access too. :scared:

Yep, that's definitly a P4 project!

In fact, it's the only P4 project I know besides GIMPS (both are using similar algorithms). All other projects are ruled by Athlons ...
