Hi to all,

I installed Norton 2005 but now my DNET speed crunching just decreased by 25%. Which permissions do I have to change because I get the feeling that Norton is blocking something.

Thanks in advance,

Carlos

Check the task manager to see if any process other than dnetc.exe is using the CPU. At least this way you can narrow it down to a particular process. If dnetc.exe is getting 99% CPU most of the time, then your problems lie elsewhere.

You said your production has dropped, do you mean you didn't produce so much work on a particular day, or your production rate (nodes/sec) has dropped?

I am running under Win ME so I can't see nothing at task manager. The production rate (nodes/sec) just dropped from 9M/s to 6M/s (OGR).
I'm going to change Norton 2005 to Norton 2004.

In that case, use wintop (http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/wintop.htm), to check which process is stealing the CPU cycles.

Thanks. I suppose it's Norton! I will tell you later what was the problem.

The problem is really Win ME
You should upgrade to XP Home at least...

I told that to my father but he is sooooo stubborn. :bang:
Do you think XP will run on a 256MB machine?

I understand stubborn ;)

Yes, 256 would be minimum ram requirement.
