Lost assignment

I was at about 56 % of an assignment when I stopped SB to reboot my PC.

[Mon Jan 03 16:57:15 2005] got proth test from server (k=22699, n=7693678)
[Fri Jan 07 19:37:13 2005] n.high = 4383474 . 784 blocks left in test

When it restarted, I was surprised to see that I grabbed a new assignment.

[Fri Jan 07 19:42:38 2005] got proth test from server (k=67607, n=7613451)

I tried to reboot 2 times after that and I kept working on the same assignment from where I left it.

So, is this normal ? Did I loose my previous work ? Or did someone else pick it ?

Excellent. This took care of it. Thanks for pointing me to this link.

Question: why these values are not stored locally in the directory in a worktodo file for instance ? Something like what Prime95 does.

Many reasons, but the current method was chosen and will change when version 3 comes out.

Version 3 isn't going to be faster, just a different interface and will take care of this problem.
