This has been discussed before, but with the renewed interest in error rates etc., and with the re-initialisation of the queues, I thought it was worth bring this one back up again.
Right now the only way to do double check work is to run the client with username as 'secret' or 'supersecret', thus you get no user/team credit. There are a small bunch of people out there you aren't too concerned with personal or team glory who are doing DC tests.
Seeding the main queues will DC checks (as has been done recently) is OK for specific tests and checks, but until this is done in a co-ordinated manner (http://wiki.seventeenorbust.com/index.cgi?PCHealthCheck) it's not really the right way as a long term approach. The best way is choice.
When the V3 client is released I am sure users will be able to choose to do DC work, however V3 isn't here today.
I am convinced there are slowish PCs out there that would be well suited to DC work, and given enough motivation I believe such PCs could be brought on-board. I think enough motivation could be as simple as getting team credit for the work.
With this in mind, why not simply create a secret/DC account for each of the top ten teams? Not only would this give some motivation, but would also give the ability for DC specific gauntlets/challenges to be organised. This is not a new idea, not my idea, simply one I am repeating
Since I am not team affiliated, it would be interesting to hear the views of more "team focused" individuals.:notworthy
