Don't know enough to put anything here, so I'll repeat the question:
How do Macs rate when it comes to DCing?

MACs are very fast on DNET.

em99010pepe is correct. Certainly with regards to OGR, anyhow. Check here (http://n0cgi.distributed.net/speed/query.php?cputype=all&arch=2&contest=ogr) for benchmarks. G4's and G5's seem to rock at this project compared to modern Intel and AMD CPUs.
Perhaps some true Mac users (Chinasaur? :D) can give you advice on other projects.

What alpha said... PPC architecture (Altivec engine) beats everyone one on Dnet (72 and OGR).
I've run D2OL on my system and gotten low 3x per day - 933Mhz
I "hear" that the new BOINC version of S@H screams on PPC. I know there are seperate versions of BOINC optimized for each type of G4 proc currently out, as well as the G5.
Dat's all I know. Class dismissed :)
Sorry it isn't more. There is at least one more Mac user I know of who posts here (and probably more..seeing as I know really very little) and that person is "much" more knowledgeable than me but the nick escapes me. If I remember I'll post. Hopefully that person
