First of all congratulations on 20 million milestone.

Secondly, my work machine has finally become part of my fleet, it's working silently for now but you will hear from it soon. Unless of course you wake your 26 dormant demons.

Unfortunately I will be in Montreal this weekend with one of my computers so no crunching for my Celeron this weekend. This should give you some time to activate your fleet. If not then I might be occupying spot 15 when 30 million comes into view.

Oh, here's a scouting report on your competition:

Athlon XP 1.4 GHz, 768 ddr RAM, Slackware 8
Duron 800, 128 sd RAM, Slackware 8
Athlon 800, 256 sd RAM, W2K
Celeron 1 GHz, 512 sd RAM, Win98

and the newcomers:
P3 1 GHz, 768 sd RAM, W2K
P90, 16 RAM (simm maybe?), W95

I added the p90 just to see if it could give me the extra edge to get over the 200k/day mark. So far it's putting out a whopping 3000 structures/day.

Hey, that's still 3000 structures a day that you didn't have before. ;)

Actually I'm hoping to kill it., the heat sink fell off last year. If it dies I might just get a new system and that would be worth a lot more than the 3000 I'm getting right now.

Not to mention that I have a spare HD, cd drive, nic, and floppy drive ready for a new home.

LOL! Don't count on it, Kosh. Years ago, I had a Volkswagen that I decided to just drive it until it died, then I'd get a new (or at least newer) ride. And I waited, and waited, and the damn thing just wouldn't die! I became known as "the guy with the ancient VW".

Yeah, it finally did, but I could have had a happier couple of years if I'd just done it in! ;)

Maybe I'll just wait until my dad tries sticking a cd into the 5 1/4" floppy drive :p. And if that doesn't work maybe I'll add some insulation around the processor.

As for now, I just had it upload the 4503 proteins it had completed since Monday. I wasn't sure if it would make it to the 5k mark since it took a full 17 seconds to go from amino acid 68 to aa 69.

Well, GOSH, I almost didn't even notice! Thanks for the kudos.

Should I tell Kosh that I took a box off DF to try ECCp yesterday, and I'm still staying ahead of him?

OK - here's the sad lot crunching DF:

Dell Inspiron 7500 P3-450
P166MX ancient tower box (started life as 386-25)
HP Netserver LH4 dual 500 Xeons
Dell Workstation 340 P4 2.0GHz

P3-550 on loan to another project
Celeron2 566 oc'd to 708 playing with Eccp

I may have to set one lab (10 P2-400 boxes) to run over the weekend just for fun :)

Well what can I say, hopefully when my manager gets back from training I'll be able to rally some co-workers to my cause. Until then enjoy the lead.

We have 20-30 P4s doing nothing every night, and most of the regular workers have a P3 on the side. So close yet so far away.

Until I return on Wednesday
