I recently started team Lone Star, but on my SB program, when I go to configuration to set the team name on there, I get a message that says : "Invalid team name. Please make sure that it is alphanumeric." So, how would I set my team name on my SB program? I don't want to redoownload it because my test is now over 8% complete and it takes about two bocks per 0.1% and each block takes about a half hour to do on my computer. :shocked:
You set your team by logging into the seventeenorbust site, not from within the client.

After logging to Sob, go to "Preferences". There you will find an option to start a team or join an existing team.

I don't think I said that right. On the thing that I downloaded onto my computer, the thing that does the calculating and stuff. I can't seem to set my team name on it. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I should let y'all know that everything I know about computers is self taught, so I'm not very much of an expert. I can get to anyhting on my computer, but I'm not very good with outside programs.

It actually doesn't seem like the team information on the program that does the calculations actually does anything. It is left over from old code. Currently, they are working on a complete rewrite of the code which will be very cool, but until then, all team stuff is done through the website. :) Hope that helps!
Second Royanee,
Ignore the teamname throught the client it doesn't work at all.
If you want to do anything team related use the website interface, login ---> preferences, etc.

The current client doesn't even send the team name to the server.
If you're having trouble on the web site, maybe your team name can't have a space?

That was my first thought, too.
But multiple teams have names with spaces in them.

Oh, well I didn't know that, but now I do. Thanks for your help guys. BTW, anyone is welcome to join team Lone Star

Not for that purpose anymore true, but it does make a nice launch point for your Team stats web page though...

I've experienced the same thing, with both the team name (Dutch Power Cows) and user name ([DPC]Theadalus), had to "hack" the Windows-registry to get the client running.
Just create a text file, put in the code below and save it as <some name>.reg, merge this reg file with your registry (doubleclick it within Explorer and answer "Yes" to the question) ;)
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LhDn\sob\config]
"team"="<your team name>"
"username"="<your user name>"
I also noticed that it's no longer possible to enter non-alfanumeric characters for the user name (while this was allowed before)? :confused:
