Thinking about picking up a "duelie"

Thinking of picking up a Dual P4 Xeon 603 3ghz Motherboard.

Anyone have suggestions/comments to offer?

I'm afraid all of the experiences I've had with dual CPU systems lately have been Opterons. We do have quite a few multi-CPU Xeon systems at work, but they're all Dell boxes.

If this is going to be a cruncher follow Jeffs guide and go with a Asus PC-DL.
I set one up and love it so far. I get almost 300 units a day in D2OL:thumbs:

Ahh - crap. This IBM inteliistation MPro 6850 I picked up uses RAMBUS ECC ram.

I love my duallie!! I have dual mp2400's in it.It does over 300 wu's a day in RC5.I'm still curious as to what it would do in D2OL!Thinking about switching it over there before to much longer!!

Bummer. The ram will cost me more than the box and processors (2.0 Ghx Xeons) did....

Now I see why the seller sells the box without ram. He also happens to sell the RAM separately. I hate the thought of having to pick up 4 sticks of 128 Mb ram for this, at about $180 per stick......

Seems like it might be. At those prices, 4 sticks of 128 MB RAM "only" cost as much as the whole box did, instead of twice as much !!

Only problem is, it's backordered - they don't have any....

Bring it on over. I have a dual MP2400 and I get about 210 a day with it.
Very nice for the price. The processors are modded 1700b's.
