If someone could lend me a socket 478 processor I would have another machine to hook up to whatever project.
If this is possible I also need to know how to network that machine to my main machine (the one I'm on now) because it has no HDD or monitor. I assume I will need a crossover cable and an extra NIC, correct? Pass that I have no idea how it would work.

If someone is kind enough to do this I'd be happy to donate some points to them.

Without a HD you'd need to run a bootable distro too which would be linux. I don't think you'd be able to get that talking via a crossover cable to windows, you'd need a switch/hub.
Not that I have any 478 procs around.

IIRC, my first REAL "network" was a FreeBSD and Windows 98 computer connected with a crossover cable. It should be possible.
