I'd explain but would probably get it wrong :)

Look at this thread (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?27995-Meta-Mega-Milestones) for a better explanation from the horses mouth... :)

Thanks...I understand it now.....
And now I'm a horse... ;)

Really, it's a way for people who focus on Mega Milestones to have a way to measure how we'll they're doing "overall." Not sure it's the best way, but it seemed simple enough and interests me. Hopefully others... :p

What 'clanks' means?
http://stats.free-dc.org/mosttag.php?cpid=61c4eaaca6667bc9dda3412188c5f173&img=.png

Bok
06-21-2011, 07:46 AM
That would be telling :)

At least straight away. I always like to see if people can work it out first!

Oh and I'd avoid using stats5, those are where we test new stuff out, so things can break at any time... stick with the standard stats.free-dc.org..

x3mEn
06-21-2011, 08:26 AM
Ok, stats5 copied.

So, what This Many for Clanks means?
How many projects were been crunched simultaneously or what?

gopher_yarrowzoo

Like we said that would be telling....

Chuck

Agreed Bok & Goph, that would be telling straight away.... not to mention, sticking the proverbial "Horse's nose in water" Too bad they never drink when you want!.

(please forgive delay posting.... I've been down with a flu.)

Belated Happy Aniversary to Bok and Mrs Bok. (or is that Bok and 'Mr Bok'??????? LOL) (yes, I remember what 15+ years can do to ya...<GRIN>)

Cheers all!

PS: Re challenge: I was distracted... next one will be better. Please accept my apologies for messing up.

I surmise "Clanks" = amount of projects with FDC RAC > 0.

Bok
06-22-2011, 08:40 AM
Correct :)

Basically #projects where you have put in some credits in the last 28 days..

I lowered the minimum threshold to >9 to get on the list.

Jeff17
06-23-2011, 01:01 AM
Yeah. A stat where I am number one.
I doubt my ranking will last long.

x3mEn

:)

Propose to add "Churns" for users with an amount of (projects without credits during last 28 days) more than some threshold, > 9, for example.

Greetings.:D

One stat I would really like to see is......

"Join date number one rankings."

ie, Users who are number one in any given project for date they joined said project.

Those stats already exist but they are not categorized in the milestone list.

That would be cool.

AMDave

This seems like a silly question to ask, but it is timely: thus, "What is a Bok?"

I think in my mind that I know what a Bok is - A Bok is a DC pioneer and stats fiend who thinks in deep-SQL (and what a sexy language that is!) and creates QWERTY music all the live long day.
However there is now a shady riddle ... how would you count a Bok that is > 1 ?
Wait!
There is more than 1 Bok?
What the ???

Welcome to the conundrum of the Bok Stat.

So lets get this straight.
If I now have 3 Boks can I spread them over timezones and have a 24 hour international "Bok support center"?
Ummm.
Doesn't sound likely.
If I now have 3 Boks do I get 3 times more of Bok's attention than someone with 1 Bok?
Ahh.
That's not going to werk.
If 1 Bok can run 1 stats server how many stats servers can 3 Boks run?
Duh.
There's only 1 FDC stats server.

Sigh.
This train of though is quite clearly reaching the end of an unfinished railroad.

Can you work out the "Bok" stat?

Chuck
06-27-2011, 08:22 AM
If I may,
A 'Bok' is a very hearty and friendly type which will make all your problems magically go away......

Given AMDave's quandry and personal experience with a 'double Bok'.... does this imply there are more than ONE or that the ONE comes in two strengths: Regular and 'extra whollup' ?

I personally know a good dose of Bok will put me to the floor, after 3 Boks, I need assistance to walk correctly and not look like a total fool.

Regardless of a Bok or a double Bok, my worries were gone and the world was right again!

Cheers,
C.

AMDave

Chuck

Ahh, then you haven't grasped the obvious....

You must sometimes pray and sometimes spar with the mystical Bok creature... Regardless of what you do, in the end, it loves food (of a variety of types). You MUST keep it satisfied!!!!!

You all know the expression "Ghost in the machine" ???? where do you think that came from? "A Bok in the machine".

Let's just give you a small clue.. Constellation took away your Bok :)

I think maybe you should peruse the SETI.USA (http://www.setiusa.us/forum.php) forums for more clues and you'll recognize some of the names :)

It just didn't occur to me to trawl their board.
Thanks. On it.

Oh, then you AT LEAST know ARES and ORION???? *****PLEASE***** tell me you've trawled that much????

That's not on the Seti board, that's on the NASA board... That's what I've been doing... helping build Orion.
I finished the Power Supply module.... Afterall, it is kinda tough to stop along the way and find a mechanic to fix a problem.

OK if I have figured out Vaios correctly, then 4 is important? If not then it is freaky that my theory worked when tested on five people's stats.

AMDave
06-30-2011, 06:06 AM
Hehe.
4 sure is a freaky number, but it's not important to the 'vaio' in any other way than: If I focus hard for a week or two I can probable get 4 more of them :D
But you are REEEALLY really close!
Try out your hypothesis on a few more random participants on the list of vaios.
You'll see what I mean.

My account at "ojhome" got deleted. I'm so upset. I had 0.00 credits ;)

Expecting my AtticFS account to do very little either. Like all of the other dozen projects that I and everyone else joined a picosecond after they appeared :)

Yeah, Mopac owes me 1K ;)

The only reason I join these noob projects now is to try and get 100 projects on 1K :)

Once that's done, and I've tidied up a few odds and ends, I think I'll just stick with half a dozen personal favourite projects and quit checking my stats.

OK, I lied. I'll keep checking stats :)

Why do not to add a link to team subproject table from Mega Milestones RankT ?
For example now I'm 16th in team at 250K milestone:

A small issue.
Look at http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=mmakers&subproj=10m&team=Ukraine , for example
Most 10m Scores (>1 for inclusion)
In fact '1' included.

x3mEn

There is an issue with milestones where 1 is enough for inclusion:
Mmakers (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=mmakers&subproj=10m&team=Ukraine)
is present instead of
Most <subproj> Scores (>0 for inclusion)
for subproj = 2.5m, 5m, 10m and probably for others high milestones.

temp filesystem (which is in memory) broke somehow and stopped the main combined user totals updating. I've moved it back to disk for now. Also, and I don't think this is related to the recent problems, but clicking a tab like "User by CPID 2" just results in a popup saying "tab toggle passed:userbycpid2". Might just be my ancient browser (FF3).

Hi,

First, Thanks for the Free DC Fun Stat, it's great!

Can i do a request here? I desire more Fun Stat like:

-Most Top 1000's = Most Top 1000 in projects. My RAC can't play in Top 100's and i want play!!

-Most Top 100 Team and Top 10 Team = Most Top 100 and Top 10 in team by projects. Free DC show his Fun Stat by World and allready by Team, maybe it's OK for this new way? This competition in team on projects is for me the best.

Thank a lot.

Kasur from Alliance Francophone.

Bok

I will look again at these.

By team, do you mean users who are in the top 100 in their team? I've avoided this type because anyone could be in a team on their own and not allow others to join. So they would automatically be there. Perhaps I could restrict it to teams of 10/20 or more users though.

Hi :)

By team, do you mean users who are in the top 100 in their team?
Exactly! that's what I meant

I've avoided this type because anyone could be in a team on their own and not allow others to join. So they would automatically be there. Perhaps I could restrict it to teams of 10/20 or more users though.

I had not thought about that. It would be a problem. But I do not think the unified ranking top 100 users who are on their team, as a ranking of the top 100 of all Sici, Seti Germany and "I'm alone and i rock you all".

Purpose ranking with our position in the number of top 100 with the other members of his team. For example, I am top 100 on 50 projects of the Alliance Francophone, how many members of the Alliance Francophone top100 is 50 times or more?

While members of small teams have a good funstats in this statistic, and appear before their Mega Milestones, and maybe you do not want that Free DC is so fun.

I do not know. Thank you so much to think about.

Kasur

edit: I have already ranking "top 1000" in my Mega Milestones, thank you very much much much. :o

That's a nice one, but if you compare this two here
Free-DC: http://stats.free-dc.org/badgesbanner.php?cpid=999daca9efac06bffb127a67d9c47f12
Sebastien (http://signature.statseb.fr/): http://signature.statseb.fr/sig.py?cpid=999daca9efac06bffb127a67d9c47f12
I see a wrong one for GPU-Grid here, I've crunched for Alanine, not only Glycine. And the bunch of WCG-Badges is missing, as well as WUProp and Radioactive ;)

Looking in to GPU-Grid issue, bet it's a break point issue - they may have changed the Scores you needed to get each badge. fixed ophs code fix..

Mine looks like this:

http://stats.free-dc.org/badgesbanner.php?cpid=cd41405690468f5888029048beb69fb3

Seb's one looks like this:

http://signature.statseb.fr/sig-199.png

Radioactive@home is missing (ditto WCG), Enigma shows 2 badges, neither being correct (I have gold), and Numberfields is showing the bronze as well as the silver.

Cheers,

Al.
I fixed that issue with the Gold badge, seems the numbers I had for break points were out just a little bit - I show all badges earned not just what your currently at, which explains why you see Bronze in Numberfields.

gopher_yarrowzoo
04-27-2013, 04:57 PM
Ok, fixed it so will only show the latest badge for NumFields..

I'm going to look at WUProp but that's going to take some real funky coding to figure out how they do the badge.

They aren't credit badges as such, given they are for subprojects, so there is no current way to calculate them from the available data that I know of.

I PM'd the admin yesterday asking for a downloadable xml file in much the same way that WuProp provide. No response.

*EDIT* at least not without scraping the HTML pages on a per user basis anyway..

(Edit: This probably should have been posted to the oproject badge request thread. Sorry.)

Love the new badge banner! I want to transition to the free-dc version, instead of the other one I am using today.

It looks like there are only a couple now missing from the free-dc banner, and one that is the wrong color, all from Oproject. Here is the interesting part: One badge showing on my account page at the Oproject is the wrong color per the credits on that very same page.
Badge list: http://oproject.info/badges.php
My page: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55884901/oproject.png

Mathematics (aka GSCE-SV) shows bronze, which is correct. Missing from free-dc banner.
Physics (aka Shor's algorithm aka the lock). This one is on the free-dc banner, shown as yellow. But I have over 500k credits, so it should be purple. Somehow that other badge banner figured it out and shows it as purple. It is smarter than the project itself!
Artificial Intelligence (aka ALX) hows bronze, which is correct. Missing from free-dc banner.

hmm, I fixed that at some point for the multiple OPR badges, we must have lost it again. Will fix. *EDIT* Fixed..

I'm just scraping the values from the webpage itself, so whatever badges it shows I get. I could scrape the values as well at the same time and amend the badges, based on the credits. Be better if Oproject got their fingers out and fixed it though :)

Anything else you'd like to see on the banner? Text with credit, rank, name etc? We've already got code in for it, but it's a little sparse. I know that other banner out there has a personal avatar available, we could do something like that easily enough.

For Gopher, we'd just store it on a table in the static database somewhere. Would actually be pretty cool.

Thanks! I think we should try to get the project to fix it's badges first. Failing that, then maybe look at correcting them.

Additions? I wouldn't mind my user name and team name.

Formatting? Could the Oproject badges be stacked like WCG? There can be up to 4, I think. And maybe group all of the single badges together? Right now, there are some at the front, and some at the end.

For asteroids, my project page shows 4 different badges, but only one in the sig graphic. They are incremental, so showing the largest implies that you have all the rest that came before it. But unless the observer knows the order of the elements assigned to each one, it is hard to know what it means. Maybe show them all? Just thinking out loud.

Yes, grouping is something Gopher and I were talking about yesterday. Need some basic algorithm ahead of time knowing just which badges are going to be displayed to decide the best way to group them.

Bok,

Nice job on the sub MMs and the new Subproject credits page. I think it is a good solution.

There are two small double counting issues with the Subproject page and sub MMs where you are listing two sub-projects and their combined sub-project.
Oproject -- weird_comb, weird-odd, weird
Primegrid -- TPS, TPS_195000, TPS_333333
I like seeing all of them on the subproject credits page but I don't think they should all get used for counting sub MMs. You could make a case either way but I would go for not including the combined when counting sub MMs.

Bok

Is there anything we can do to supply you with our subproject scores of WCG?

Bok
10-05-2014, 11:35 AM
I could write a scraper to pull the data from WCG for some ids (can't do them all as it would be 100,000 reads of the pages!) maybe for those ids where I pull the badges data. I'll have a look at doing that.

*EDIT* I can't seem to find any xml output that shows the data from the subprojects at WCG.

Nearest one is this (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewMemberInfo.do?userName=IBM&xml=true) which I use for the badges but it unfortunately does not give the points/credits :(

Dirk Broer

With this I can add a link to a page showing each app in project rank order (Work in progress).

I think I will also change this to show the colored stars too like Sebastian has done at WuProp.

See my page (http://stats6.free-dc.org/user/wup/84) for examples. Didn't realize I was #1 on a few of these !! Of course they are opt-in at wuprop so not everyone is displayed..

I may go back and get bigger versions of the badges for some as I tend to resize down the originals to fit in the banner better, but that's a bigger undertaking...

I'd also really like to include information on when the next badge level is achieved but that's even bigger - the information is not readily available so it would mean manually adding the info to a table somewhere and maintaining it.

It should just be one, as it is the same effort. DNA@Home went up into CSG.

I also spot one ATLAS@Home badge and no LHC@Home badge.
There should only be a LHC@Home badge, as ATLAS@Home went up into LHC@Home.
