It's out in the machine shop I built in the garage. Life expectancy of a bare board is quite low out there, what with metal chips flying around and all. Cases are .... mandatory :D Besides the cases have extra little blinkey lights on them for me to watch....
Here's why the cases:

I love milling machines I was into tool& die about 35 years back and would have stayed if the pay scale was better

It's a lathe and mill both....
Cool - now have a pair more of these, which made a nice little bump in SOB for me:

Habit, more than anything else. There are some projects where knowing specifics about what is being crunched could possibly allow others to do mischief....

Nope - still waiting on that one. This is a "surplus" IBM Intellistation MPro dual 2.0 Ghz Xeon box that I picked up for about $300, complete with processors... Heck of a nice box, too bad the thing is so big. (Big, as in, has bays enough to hold 7 SCSI drives... A full 4U sized.)

Sweet yeah me need to get one of them... but with some nice 64's instead of Xeons lol but I can see why you'd wanna protect machines from sparks / shards of metal..
