My brother-in-law has a Dell dimension 4100. I dont know how much memory he has but he wants to add more (max is 512). It uses PC133 SDRAM. Specs are here http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dzuul/specs.htm .

My question is would any new SDRAM card need to be the same size as the one in there? I don't think so but I'm hazy because I remember earlier systems when that was true.

It looks like the PQI w/lifetime for $15.85 + $4.33 shipping from Newegg (http://www2.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Manufactory=&PropertyCodeValue=521%3A7967&PropertyCodeValue=523%3A7855&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&PropertyCodeValue=0&description=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=&SubCategory=147&Submit=Property) is the lowest price I can find for 128mb -- if you've seen something better I'd be interested.

MP,

You can use any PC133 so long as its either Non-ECC or an Identical match to the original one if it is ECC. My experiences with Dell usually ended up with me searching for a few days to find an identical stick because Dell's are so picky with the (single sided/double sided) ram. But, you may have better luck than I.

Brian:)

PS: That ram is cheap enough, it wouldnt hurt trying it. Even if it wont work, look me up and Ill pay you for it (your total cost) to ship it here for my ECS board. I have that same ram :)
