Got your PMs but your box is always full! so heres what you need to do to run that compaq board.

1.) Remove the pins from the plastic holder on the compaq cases power cable.
2.) Trace the power wires (usually green and white) and pair them up and label it.
3.) Do the same with the hdd led, speaker and so on.
4.) start with the power cable. Connect to board until you find the proper location.
5.) Once you have the power set correctly, do the same for the rest.

Im not sure if (HP/Compaq) will have a pin grid arrangement on their website, but its worth checking out. I know that board and cpu worked perfect when shipped because my wife had been using it in her system till i pulled it for you. I think that maybe your case has the same "style" connector, but a "different" pin arrangement in the connector. Try the above, and get back to me, and EMPTY your PM BOX!

Brian:)

PS: Got CD today. Thanks!

Also, Jeff:

1.) Best way to remove the pins from the compaq connector is to heat it with a lighter or something to warp the plastic stop guides.

Heh...fire...yes...I love that idea. :)

There are only like 6 little wires to connect up coming from the plug!

And I empty my PM box almost daily! It's not my fault I'm so damn popular!

Maybe we need more PM box space???

Nothing useful to say other than most compaq/hp machineshave the proper pin configurations on their website, but it normally requires the model number of the computer it came out of.

And hello to another PA Free-DCer (even though my power is rarely seen, and thankjfully so. I'm like certain people, and have 13 different names in total for DC projects). Did you get snow up your way this weekend? :p

Very few flurries here. Mostly heavy rain. Im above allentown PA, just over the mountains on the PA turnpike. Stop by sometime, as I always welcome DCers to my home! And I agree, its good to see a fellow PA'er here :)

CM, you still have 70PM's...limit is set at 100 for non-moderators.

I suspect you may have deleted your inbox, but your sent-mails also count towards the total......

I may up the limit at some point anyway as it doesn't use up any space on the server, but then 100 is plenty to save in your inbox..

Make it 100 for inbox and 50 for outbox. :)

I cleaned out my outbox now. :)

Can't limit it like that, it's just an overall number. Of course you can always choose not to save your sent items....

*EDIT* I increased the general limit to 200

Thats should more than suffice.
