Warning!! XtremeSystems attacking in D2OL!!

We are about 46 days away from losing third place to XtremeSystems!!

This team is coming on strong - producing over 40K/day. To defend (and take second) we would need to return to the full power we had a couple months ago.

I'm currently gearing up to stomp Fozzie in FAD, but I'll put it all back here if it's decided we want to defend third

So do we all come back here and defend third or wish XS well on their way to the top??? :confused:

That is why I moved to FaD in the first place.

The Administrators of this project have been neglecting us for a while now without any substantial information regarding the project's worth and direction in the future.

I would think that this project is dead in the water until we see some action from the people managing this project.

I would say not,

Xtreme are running a single project for the long term. There is no way to compete with that and we're not likely to get everyone back on board for the duration. There is also the problem of lack or real world results or feedback from D2OL which puts many people off...including some of the XtremeSystems guys too

We've done EXTREMELY well in D2OL and should be proud of it.

It'll be fun watching Xtreme rollercoaster TA anyways :p

Remember though, anyone and everyone is entitled to run whatever they wish :)

TBH we didn't get any concrete evidence that is is doing anything.

At least with FAD we know and get feedback after each set of clinical trials.

Now the question is are we in this for the good of mankind, or is it just a game with stats.

TBH I'm putting my money with FAD, D2OL and TSC got a hell of a lot of GHZ out of me and I'm feeling kinda gutted that I'm not sure it was useful.

So I wish XtremeSystems well but would like to know if they know anything we don't?

We know that we're gonna be tasting some frozen yogurt in 16 days time :) But pre-flattened roakill a la Free-DC wont taste so sweet :( So please, please, plese put up a fight...i dont know why the scientist peeps / admins arent replying, but i know that it must be doing some worth cos the wouldnt just leave the candidate server up if they were doing smeg all.

I think the teams leaders need to al have a chat and send off a nice ass whooping email to the admins of d2ol to ask for regular updates.

It's why a lot of teams stopped running it in the end.

With FaD there are concrete real world results. Cancer molecule inhibitors and such.

It doesn't take anything away from the great job XtremeSystems have done on the project in a short space of time mind!!

Well the cats out of the bag and as a result there is considerable negativity towards D2OL evident in recent posts in the XS forum.

This was not my intention and it makes me feel bad.

Bok Since FaD points follow wherever you go, somebody could start a new team and ask us to join. I haven't looked at the scores, but it's possible XPC could be dropped to third place almost overnight.

In my opinion, though, it wouldn't feel like a "real" victory.

But, how many remember that other project back a few years???
They are only working on the same results they had from the beginning, and only after several months of pressure did they let the cat out of the bag that we were re-hashing the same old work over and over again...
They were only interested in us helping them design a better client/product.
When the word got out, it was dropped like a hot potatoe by most, and I was left feeling empty and deceived.

IF the project owners can't communicate with those that donate their time, computers and hard earned cash for the electricity to run them, then I'm not willing to particpate in their project.
Apparently this is the case from what I've read around here, no?

And I am not remotely interested in joining up with another Team to merge or otherwise, just to get a higher score on some stats page :(

I was just trying to start a little friendly competition between us and XS. I've had doubts too, but was hopeful we were doing some good.

My recent jump to FAD was more about having some fun for a while than abandoning this project.

I dont consider this project dead yet, but it might take a number of their largest contributers quiting to open their eyes and share some info.
I for one have a personal goal of 500k on d2ol but will move the majority of my power to FAD untill I hear something.

I should have stuck with FAD, I was the #1 member in Free-DC when I joined.
