Not to pre-emt Lauren...but this should be a second prize this coming week..

I have an AMD thunderbird 1.4, full system, think it might even have a CD and floppy! It has linux installed which I'll leave on. I'll configure it's IP adress/gateway/DNS however the winner wishes it to be, prior to it going out..

It's sitting in my garage right now, not been turned on for a few weeks.

On the other hand, you might want to get in touch with Bok. I've already selected the numbers, but I allowed for the 8-person possibility in my selection. (No, people, that doesn't guarantee I chose 8 as a number, it just guarantees I dealt with the possibility in my selection process, which basically involved a coin, binary notation, and either 6 or 9 flips)

I'll have to ask for a ruling on that void. When I picked the numbers I used coin tosses, 3 of them. Heads is zero, tails is one. Binary notation. If three in row were heads that would mean 0 which I would've referred to as 8. I decided this BEFORE flipping, so in my opinion, the results are valid.

If one of my first 2 selections had been 8, or technically 0, I would've selected a third time to allow for the possibility that there wouldn't be an 8th person.

I hope this makes sense.

Edit: Here's how it played out. I knew it was possible there would be an eighth person and I planned for that. I did two selections, both involving coin tosses.

First selection: I tossed the coin. Tails. I wrote down a 1. Tossed again. Heads. To the right of the 1 I wrote a 0. 3rd toss. Tails. 1. Result:101 (4+0+1=5)

Second selection: Heads, tails, tails. 011 (0+2+1=3)

If either of the first two selections had been 3 heads in a row, that would've been 0, which I decided beforehand would be posted as 8.

If one of the first two choices had yielded the 8 choice I would have publicly noted the fact and made a third choice(in addition to the first 2) that would've accounted for the possibility that there wasn't an eighth choice. Since neither of my selections was that eight, I didn't say anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but allowing the possibility of an eighth choice in your calculations, even if it isn't chosen, creates a level playing field for that eighth person whether they exist or not.

I allowed for both instances, I just didn't document that fact.

Haha. I can't complain, I've had the opportunity to win a computer for several weeks now, so no worries. As much as I'd like to get it redrawn, I guess I should just be grateful for the generosity of this team!
