New CASP5 Protein is Up!!

Well the new protein is up and I have started crunching. This one looks like 182 residues and the client uploads after every 3000 structures.

Go out an update your clients!!!

how big is the download file?

i just started pulling down the linux-icc client and i think its bigger ~9mb, i thought it used to be around ~5mb ? or am i wrong ?

Hello All,

I have a autoupdate.cfg in my directories and it's set to one.

Do I have to actively download the client again ? If so do I do it over the top of the old one or start anew ?

I have only done 2 million results but managed a 4.98 today..so am well chuffed . Just in the nick of time as well.

The download is about 8MB. The larger the protein you have the larger the protein.trj file and this one is 8MB uncompressed.

Do the amount of structures between uploads depend on your CPU speed? One of my clients a P3-600 is doing 3000 structures per upload but my P4 1.5GHz machine is still doing 5000 structures. I extracted the new DF client from the same ZIP file.

I noticed the distributedfolding.com/org site went back "temporarily down" again so are there any problems and you are updating the client again?

With the old client i was doing alomost 1 structure per second, so the new client uses about 3 times more time per unit...

Looks like this new one takes about 3 times longer per 5000 units, on the average. We need more crunchers.
