All,

the dhep server is down right now. I am in the process of moving it to the free-dc server which is located in a secure datacenter. It's mostly running, but will be at least a few days and probably longer before it returns.

It was hoped that we'd have the move done transparently, but circumstances are beyond our control at this time, sorry.

Thansk IronBits for buying the hardware and hosting it this far! :notworthy

More news when I have it. Please run something else in the meantime.

Sorry for the overly cautious question:
Has a 'snapshot' of the current circuit state been taken?
When we all reconnect to DHEP, will we have to restart the evolution of the current circuit?...

I've got a snapshot from tuesday.

But I'll be getting the machine from IB anyway, so I'd have a snapshot from it.

the question would be, do we wait until that point which may be a week or more away, or run with the snapshot I have on the free-dc machine.

Not sure on that one yet.

Hi Bok, it seems DHEP is coming back to life from Tuesday's snapshot, so I guess you answered yourself and all is good. (This is based on the Topology page now working).

We've altered the DNS entry, so it's now pointing to this box. I'd already migrated the website and db based on that snapshot. The clients won't work yet though..

IT's running I *think*.

Try connecting but change the IP addresses in the Island.bat and anywhere else to 70.84.240.122 first.

Let me know if it works..

At my end I get the following error when the client is trying to first connect up to the server (using the new address):
"java.rmi.NotBoundException: KingKong ".

hmm,

yeah I see those errors in the output of the server too..

I'll need to get Miguel on the box to look at it.

I got a reply back from Miguel yesterday. He will get on as soon as possible and try and fix the problem. He's just moved back to London, so is kind of between things right now. Hopefully it won't be much longer..

I'm afraid I'm at the mercy of Miguel. I haven't heard from him now in a while. I'll shoot him another email and see what the hold up is.

It's good to be back. I've finally moved back to London and now have broadband at home so should be able get back into DHEP.

Nothin gets dropped off the server, probably just your default view is only last 60 days perhaps?

So Miguel, with all due respect, have you any idea when this project might start up again?
I don't want to whine, but I have 4x computers idle that I might rebuild to run some BOINC stuff. (LHC / Einstein)

I'm not entirely sure Miguel is checking the boars with regularity. I did however get a mail from him on wednesday letting me know that his RL commitments are getting in hand now, so with luck it won't be too much longer.
