I noticed in another thread that someone said that queries can last anywhere from 10-24 hours. If I'm not mistaken, they also said they run things on a 2800+ Sempron.

Since most jobs usually get within 5-10% across platforms, I'm thinking it would be better if someone would post some sort of points spread instead of posting how long it takes their specific computer. That way, I can figure out whether or not it's worthwhile to add my 45 points an hour computer.

To calculate points Mr Briggs suggests using the following formula

Take # of seconds, divide by 3600 and multiply by the machine rating to calculate the number of points....

The machine rating is dependent on clock speed and cache i think.

If you look in your machinename.tlg file in a text editor it will show you the rating you are getting.

Now the query you should choose relies on many factors

Are you going for Hits, molecules or jobs, at the end of the day whatever you crunch gives you the same points or GFLOPS.

The best for leaving unattended to just crunch AND for hits are M2Rs, and as they are Cancer queries I will always crunch them in preference to any other as curing cancer is why I'm doing this.

So fire up 5 or so M2Rs and let that Sempron go.
