Thanks to an ill-timed batch of Microsoft Updates, combined with an ISP switchover problem, I'm down for at least two days, maybe more. :cry:

What seems to have happened is that automatic updates somehow managed to reboot my gateway machine while it was doing updates to the firmware on my DSL modem and main router.

The firmware in both is now hosed and can't be fixed locally, so I'm down until replacement hardware arrives.

Didn't have time to play around. Took an expensive 1/2 day off work. Received the replacement modem, bought a replacement router. Did a great deal of very odd network configuring. Screamed at Earthlink a LOT.

All seems better now.... :)
