Think of it:

A paper-thin black and white display about the size of a page in a paperback book when unrolled(!!!) attached to an x number of gigabytes flash drive which can be detached, and limited wireless access to the Internet.

If you want a book on a certain topic, you have a choice of

(1) Looking for a specific or general book by author or keyword.

(2) Using menus that can more and more specific with each choice

Obviously, we've got these two choices with the Internet(to a certain extent), but wouldn't it be nice to have a normal paperback collection that you could carry in your pocket? Maybe you could carry the top 100 books of the month in your pocket, just waiting for the DRM fairy to come and tell them they can show themselves.

I believe it was the Alien Nation show that pioneered the then science-fictional technology of rollup screens, but they are going to arrive sooner or later. The military is probably going to be the first to use them(in combat or combat training) and then they'll trickly down to us mere mortals, kind of like the whole Internet thing.

The only real problem I can see at the moment is that it's getting easier and easier for grandmas and grandpas to have pictures of the grandkids available, whether you want to see them or not.:scared:

"Class, please unroll your computers and attach your wireless connection to the video player at the front of the room, we are about to watch the movie 'Iraq: From Before the US War to the Present. 10 Years Later' You will be expected to upload an essay on the war to my online mailbox within one week. If any of you have questions I have changed the spambot password file within the last 24 hours. Please download it before you leave class, as I don't carry it on person since the Euphoria virus has become prevalent enough to be a concern.

"Also, I have been informed that certain members of the class have chosen to accidentally(I assume) change the setting on their t-shirts to something other than a G-rating. I suggest you download the Linux patch that notices school zones so that you don't get in hot water. I'm sure President Clinton doesn't want her 'Permitted Indecency" t-shirt laws to give the end of her term a black eye.

"Does that cover everything? Any questions? Fine, please show respect by not texting or downloading during the presentation.

"Computer, begin movie."
