View Full Version : Firefox and Thunderbird additions
I upgraded to 1.05 recently in Firefox and then installed a few new additions. Got to like the one that custom stops/allows javascript on a per site basis - sweet.
I'm also quite fond of the small calculator addition which appears in the bar. Saves me having to run xcalc :)
I've also been toying with additions in Thunderbird, the image block is nice as you can enable it within each mail, as are the ones to see which mail client was used and also for mails which are using a wrong domain.

Yeah, the extensions really help. This is what I'm running at the moment:
NoScript -- I'm guessing this is the whitelist Javascript blocker you're referring to?
FlashBlock -- Same type of deal, except it replaces all flash elements with play buttons.
Sage -- Tracking and presentation for RSS and ATOM feeds.
Download Manager Tweak -- Download window is moved to a sidebar.
PDF Download -- When opening a PDF choose to download or view in a window.
Tabbrowser Preferences -- Just about every option imaginable for controlling your tabs.
Forcastfox -- Weather plugin, puts a small icon in the status bar.
Web Developer -- For all the CSS fiddling I do.
I'd like to hear what everyone else is using, I'm sure I'm missing some useful stuff.
AdBlock springs to mind immediately.
Galculator and FireFTP I'm also running
And yes NoScript 1.0.9

You need Firefox 1.0.6, some add-ons got broken in 1.0.5. :bang:
I only need the adblocker extension myself  ;)
I'm using Mouse Gestures.

when I was using FF (for the brief time when Opera 8.0 had stability issues on linux, before 8.01 :) ) my plugins were mouse gestures, forecastfox, tabbrowser preferences, and a great little plugin called (i think) sessionsaver which mimics Opera's sweet behavior of saving all your open tabs and restoring them when you start up.
for thunderbird i use the enigmail plugin... although i dont really ever sign/encrypt anything, so i probably dont need it but hey, it had a debian package so i installed it :)
TB has image blocking builtin, what does the plugin for it do?
