pages of COSE_WAIT connections

I know we have talked about this earlier, but I can't find a solution to this in this forum. I have pages (about 110) of connections to the seventeen or bust server, all on close_wait (found via netstat). Now I have two questions: how do i close these connections? restarting sob? restarting my modem? restarting windows/linux (i have two machines, one linux, one windows). Also: is there any way to avoid this? Can I change something in the config file or something?

PS: any rough ideas when the new clients are coming out?

There is a bug in the current client.
Restarting the modem is useless,
restarting your machine is overkill,
restarting the sob client will do the job until the new version of the client.
