    DF Client update troubles on workstations

    It appears that the problem is: the 3.x series LTSP client workstation image doesn't have "tar", nor is there an easy way to add it...

    I'm working on building the 4.x version. This appears to be a fairly straightforward thing - much like doing a Gentoo emerge. And, once it's built, you can just export a different file system (like /home/my-ltsp-build/ltsp/i386), modify things so that one of the client connects and uses that as its root file system - allowing you to test the build out before actually installing it "in the usual place".

    More details this evening once I have a successful build done. Had to work with the LTSP people today to get a missing file issue ironed-out...
