Serious problems with this protein uploads

    From http://anteater.blueprint.org/cgi-bin/trajstore

    "Total registered participants: 30968
Active users (working on current protein): 8

Total work done so far: 1,600
    Goal amount of work: 30,000,000,000"

After 24 hour of the new protein, I think that says it all.

As of 3:55 p.m., the total Active Users was 1,600 so we are seeing the normal ramp up as users finish the old protein and move to the new.

Robert, the 1,600 is the work done, not the # of participants:

    Taken from the stats page:

    Distributed Folding Project Statistics
as of: Fri Apr 23 14:01:18 2004 EST

View / Download statistics as plain text

    Total registered participants: 30968
Active users (working on current protein): 8
The only good brew is a homemade brew

Well those figures were taken at as of: Fri Apr 23 14:01:18 2004 EST are you sure you did not misread, there were 1,600 points not active users.

You might be right. When I went to my own stats at 5:05 p.m. EST, it showed only 162 active users.

On the other hand, I notice that my backlog of buffered results has dropped dramatically so the system is absorbing the work. The low number of active users may simply be a delay caused by the processing time for a larger protein.
