Have a possible major rollout about to happen. Bringing in 2 demo boxes today for testing for the next month or so and might be bringing in around 20 after this. Crossing my fingers and hoping everything goes well. Switching from WYSE terminals to PC's possibly if all goes well.

If I can get PCZ's server/client setups working well I can move all the DF boxen I have across to FAD.

We'll see, it looks feasible.

As to how Paratima feels about it, Y'ALL COME ON! Happy for the company.

I'm down to a handful of boxen these days. I just keep running so that Furballexpress has to do SOME work to take over #1. He should do that in a week or two. Jkusuda and a couple others are back there, wailin' away at it, but with FAD, nothing happens very fast!

Repairs made to 3 other boxen that went down with crashes because of the 1.25e beta. If any of you Fadders out there have it installed on a HT'ed machine refer to my post in the FAD Forum about it.

Ah well, the borgage sort of mostly went away when I got sort of, well, RIF'd*, ya know? Still got a couple of friends at the old workplace running for me, but nothin' like what I had.

I'm still doing a little consulting there whilst I set up my new business in commercial & wedding photography. I may be able to talk a couple more of my ole buds into (ahem) "participating".

Thanks for the kind words, friends. But don't grieve for me. It may be the best thing that's happened to me in years.

I spent the last couple of years looking for work, both inside & outside my company. Talk about a drag! Didn't find any inside, which is probably why I got the ax. They just didn't need my services anymore. And not a lot of places need down-and-dirty hardware/software interface guys or compiler writers right around where I live. (Or within about a thousand miles. Didn't want to move to Redmond.)

Didn't want to move at all. I LOVE Florida!

Sooooo, what else can I do? What's my hobby? Can I make a living doing that? Hey! Bet I can! No unemployment checks for this boy. I'm out and selling and taking photos and working my butt off and having a ball. Some day I may even make money at it!

Downside, not much time for running a pharm, but I'll do what I can. I may be a while between communications, but I'll check in when I can.
