Way cool! I can't wait to see what kind of numbers you return!

You should get us easily to my personal goal, which is that Free-DC enter the top 100 by the end of the year.

Quebec is a very, very big place.

10 cm isn't much snow, but it is enough to encourage one to stay inside, and install F@H on more computers.

    Joe,

    You ROCK buddy!!!!

Agent Smith was right!: "I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it, I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell! If there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink and every time I do, I fear that I've somehow been infected by it."

I think your doing an awesome job right here. At current production we stand to take 20 positions in the next 2 months as Ironbits pointed out in another thread.

Oh please stay! F@H is an honorable project, and we have been advancing so fast in the past weeks!

Eh, put them all where you have the most fun, Joseph_Arthur. Personally, I think it is a blast watching us move up in the F@H stats, but I'd understand if you took them elsewhere. I've done enough sysadmining to know how annoying it can be to support a bunch of different configurations.

Basically, any computer on any project for Free-DC is wonderful. I'll admit I drool at the thought of 300 boxes all on F@H, though.

    Hi IronBits,

I don't put by slow machines on f@h project. They take too long time.

Ex: I have a Pentium 2 266Mhz with Slackware 10 and it take more then 15 days to calcul 1 UW .

    Is it normale ? ?

I don't investigate more time on it.

    Have a nice day.

    joseph,

I have a PIII 400mhz, 2 PIII 800 mhz, and 1 PIII 1ghz running FaD and have had no problem with the client.

    Hope this helps...

I wouldn't run F@H on anything slower than a Pentium II, but if you set the client to accept work units with no deadline (tinker), they process much faster, and should even get you more points over time.

I have several 600-700 MHz Pentiums doing this, and it seems to work well. Anything over 1 GHz should be fine with normal deadlined work units.

Also, I will be installing F@H on 5 Xeons today!
