The client keeps stopping when I run it offline. I've collected enough wus but it runs for a while then stops for no apparent reason.

Hi Fozzie.... you "problem" is very easy to resolve.
change the number 2 ( you had here a 4 I think) into a zero and off you go again until your buffer is emty.Quote:
[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=2
0 = crunch without connecting with a sever / proxy
2 = crunch wu and download a new 1 directly (so offline means that de core wont do anything because he cant download 1)
have Fun MegaFlushing
can you request longer lasting wus?
No.
You can only request more.
:bouncy:
C'mon Fozzie, You can't crunch while yer talkin'!

probably not enough but should see a nice :dump: Monday, showing up on Tuesday mornings update.
I'll be cutting my production for the next week because I'm on vacation in Greek :D drinking some Mythos and having some fun
Okay, time for the dumb question of the week, month, or year... :) The powers to be say that the project is at 52% or so completion. I would assume that is based on the percentage of total number of work units completed? I'm watching my crunchers just chewing through work units as we seem to be in a bunch of really short buggers. So supposing all or the majority of work units left for the project are short buggers, then does that lend to the belief that the second half of this project could go by really fast as compared to the first half???? Or is there some other way that they are tracking the completion percentage for the project?
edit: The competition is getting a little too close in my main project, so going to have to put some effort back into that to build up some distance again. sigh....
Brucifer: I don't have the answer about how the percentage is calculated. I do think we can make the top 10 before the project completes. I may have to start tracking their "completion" percentage. It is definitely rising as we pick up steam. As for switching back to the other project: thanks for joining us with whatever you can spare!

I'll get something back here shortly, just won't be as high as it's been. I'd like to see the top ten before the end of the project. Would be cool for the team history. And I'd like to see if I can get down into the 300's too. :)
Your thoughts to track the percentage probably isn't a bad idea as it would give an idea on how things are tracking.
Looks like I came back just in time to see us take some places. :) Of course, we had a power cut whilst I was on holiday so lost a couple of days production.
As for percentage calculation, this has been discussed extensively in another thread. To summarise:Oh, and have a good one the-mk!
- percentage completion is based on the number of stubs, not the number of nodes
- average stub length should shorten as we progress through the project, so percentage completion will rise faster as we get nearer to the end

Screw SoB and DPAD, Distributed.NET was my first DC project ever..... Well SETI, but that doesn't count. I retired my old e-mail addy into my new one I setup today, so I don't know if there will be any side affects on my stats with the team or not, but we'll find out on the next stat's update tomorrow evening. They officially update their stats around 6pm CST if I remember correctly right??
Let's go get a top 10 place.
That's easy! Give us a near impossible deadline first :cheers:Quote:

I've stocked up 3000 wus on each of the 6 boxen i have running OGR so hopefully should have something good to :dump: when I get back Tuesday week.
Have fun until then, we might even have passed the Russain team.
Have a good one Foz!
Just twigged to the fact you're only 19KGnodes behind me :scared:
I either gotta get busy ( :moto: ) or face the music :)
Congrats on your output either way mate!
BIG welcome to BranRay and Lauren
Glad to have ya along for the fun!

Welcome back the-mk!
I seem to have lost a machine today so production will be down until I fix it. :swear:
MK,
Well..maybe it's like 43KGnodes..
Welcome back from Greece.. :)
Don't even see any of the newbies crunching who are crowing about the "we" victory.....
Far as I can tell..it's just, and always, been the heavy hitters at the top (1-3) doing the heavy lifting.... anyone else is along for the ride.

Timeframe to #13 is about one week with yesterdays production
I am still adding Nodes to this project
I am at about 75% deployed as of right now
I guess at the rate of pay you could expect me to pitch in about 140 or so K a day at full speed
what is it to 1stQuote:

Much longer, the project will run out of workunits much earlier I fear.
Edit: #1 Team has 10times as many workunits, and is still three times as fast as we are. Check http://stats.distributed.net/team/tl...ow=1&limit=100

Ouch I blew a circuit today:swear: and a 1/4 of my crunchers were down for part of the day :swear:
If it was one of the new 30 amp circuits, I'd say you are close to burning down the barn! :fireboun:
No I replaced the Main 30's with 40 amps and they are holding OK now
It was one of the local 15 amp I am probably just a bit unbalanced
Or could just need a new 20 Amp breaker:bang:
Rule of thumb is 8 CPUs per 15 amp circuit to be safe.
100 watts =~ 1 amp
most DC computers use 150-200 watts or more, each.
If you can get your hands on the Romex and it's hot, back off a few. :looney:
hahaha IB even my Main drop from the street is warm:fireboun:
Even the transformer on the poll BuzzZZ's allot when I am at Full Power:scared:
My Meter spins like a helicopter trying to lift off with a car load of my money:bang:
:jester:
But what is a DC'er to do:cheers:
At yesterday's rate, we will be #10 in 55 days:
in 4 days, we could beat Russian Team for #13
in 34 days, Namibia RC5-64 team for #12
in 36 days, Team EvangeLista (Macs Rule! :-) for #11 in
in 55 days, Monochrome BBS for #10.
Czech D.NET Team is quite fast too, thus harder to beat.
:umm: Are We There Yet :jester:
 I think I need More power:rock:
Now where did I put that Dark-mater collector:looney:
Wow! We could pass Russian Team tomorrow.
