I'm coming. It just takes my steam loco a while to build up speed unlike your bullet train. You're right I did have some older WUs but since all my rigs are at work, I set the cache as low as possible and just have to wait for them to run out. The last time I checked, I was at #91 and on the move.
:bigtrain:
Current standings with just over 2 days to go.
Team is at #14
PCZ at #6 :train:
Bigred at #60 :bigtrain:
BOK at #317 :machgun:
Laurenu2 at #474 :rsniper:
Chuck at #1186 :flame:
Someone needs to call the fire brigade and tell them where to find more water!
Great to see you guys in the comps again!
PS -
was that a truck full of ALICE that I just saw pulling into your place on the satellite, PCZ?
I saw the market price go up but I thought it was just my imagination. LOL

:P
The team has done well.
Looks likely we will finish in the top 20, (16th)
Considering how few in number we are thats a great result.

ALICE
as in alice springs ie:water
It's snowing in the UK at the moment, mother nature is providing a plentiful supply of freezing cold air to cool the GPU's.
I'm using enviromentally friendly aircon, opening a window :D
What are the final standings for each of the contributors ? I'm curious how this laptop gpu has done (yes, just 1 GPU running)
C.
Edit: per last update @ 23:16 Z , I got knocked down a few places (a mere 3 WUs) :(
Edit: As the Validator cleans up the WUs in the queue, it seems I gained back 1..... one can hope for more
No. Although that would be topical given the inclement antipodean weather that we are experiencing. ;)
What I am referring to is Aluminium-Ice Propellant
It's very hot stuff :)

Oh rocket fuel :)
Couldn't find a drop anywhere.
Sicituradastra must have bought it all seeing as how there so desperate to reach the stars. :firedevil:
The 2011 challenge series is going to kickoff on 3 Feb at 18:00 UTC and run for 3 days. This one will be PPS (LLR) a CPU only subproject (Lauren :Pokes:). All hungry CPUs are welcome.:eat:
Average WU time is about 10 minutes.:guntotin:
I'll be there with what little I have left.
I"ll run it.
My congrats to whomever broke it...... it's not often PG fails to respond to a simply refresh but easily understandable given the DB state that PG can't keep up with you big guns (CPU = 30+ on Xeons). All I can say is I will keep my :guntotin: going while you experts hit it with the good :machgun:
PS: got the ATI SDK installled in 64 bit linux and think I might be able to join you soon with my GPUs.
Status update.
Team is still at #24:thumbs:
Bigred #32
Outlnder #245
Bok #256
Chuck #319
JasonGoatcher #454
So at this point it is 5 of us against the world (about 1200 people).
Gang,
I just added another one to the works... that will help. I checked the 'pending' queue and their transitioner backlog must be nearly a full day at this point. I have over 2600 sitting there, waiting for credit to be granted.
PS: Just checked stats. (1491 participants)
FDC is still holding #24 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
37 - Bigred
239 - Bok
251 - Outlnder
306 - Chuck
411 - Jason
Thanks,
C
:Pokes:ANYONE care to jump in and join us? The swim:bath: is just perfect!!!
Having tons of fun and we are holding firm and :lawn: with what is now 1650+ participants.
FDC is still #24.... Rock On!!
Will report some stats later... Could use 1 or 2 more users... I know some of you are holding up the Team standings in our absence...

I just checked and I've got over 42,000 in pending credit. There is also 1,154,000 awaiting validation.
Not surprised... My score indicates I've done nothing, but I turn in at least 3 every 2 mins. I haven't bothered to check what's in pending... it's gotta be outrageous.
Just checked... they've also got the backlog off... Oh well, it's not like the CPU load indicators are showing it as idle. :)
Edit: Going to post/edit our stats update every 8 hrs or so unless requested otherwise. Anyone needing the link it's here
The challenge data includes the pending from what I've read though...
Hmmmmm, interesting... based on what I see and knowing I get about 4.5 credits/WU under normal circumstances, we shouldn't be falling so far behind unless we are REALLY that low-powered or prefs are mis-configured somewhere... I did double-check mine. It's behaving like it's lagging somewhere, just wish I could figure it out... I KNOW you should not have lost so much ground... it looks like you lost a serious bunch of machines and that's just not possible.
Edit: if it doesn't start to validate it, it won't jump in the 'pending' column. It has to at least check the WU status code before it computes the pending..... i may be wrong as this is a special config set for high volume.
....... Aaaaaand as they're rounding the final turn, coming into the home stretch towards the finish line, it's.............
61 - Bigred
213 - Bok
285 - Outlnder
310 - Chuck
447 - Jason
505 - Carlos
1254 - Nebojsa
... Putting "Free-DC" Stables ahead by a nose in 28th position.
Anyone doing the next challenge: Marie-Sophie Germain, April 1-3?
I'll be running my Q6600 on it for the 48 hr duration.
No GPU client for this, so the GTX 460s will keep working on PPS Sieve...
I'll put some on it.:eat:
Looks like it is just the two of us,so far.:Pokes:
I woukd say that 29th is not too bad considering.:guntotin:
I pointed a few nodes here but not getting any work ?
I guess I will have to look at the settings :bang:
Yeah, not bad at all!
I'm maxed out. But with just a bit more help, I think Free-DC could beat Ars Technica!
Is there a separate spreadsheet for this run ?
I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for.
Ranking list for individuals for this challenge is here.
Ranking list for teams for this challenge is here.
Ranking list for individuals for the year is here.
Ranking list for teams for the year is here.
Seeing as how we completely missed the second challenge, if we want to move up the list for the year, we will need more help on the rest of the challenges this year.:Pokes:
Stop poking in that spot I,m getting sore there
I tried on the last one but I had my setting to only get GPU
By the time I noticed I had No work it was almost over
Almost like this one to :bang:
Ya the links were what I was looking for thanks
The next challenge starts in less than two weeks (5 May). :guntotin:
It will be a TRP challenge and the WUs will take about 5-8 hours to complete. So, who's going to help the team with this?:Pokes::Pokes::Pokes::Pokes::Pokes:
I'll do it as long as I remember.. :)
You can count me in unless I have to depart on travel early. Travel should not interfere with the challenge unless moved up by more than a week.
C.
I'm throwing it all I've got!
Looks like it should be a pretty good turn out.
Earth to Lauren.:couchsleep:
Earth to Lauren.:couchsleep:
I just want to make sure you know that this is a CPU subproject for this challenge. We wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last time.:umm:
OK OK I get the thread drift i will Be there in full force:blush: OK
OK so how does this one work
It starts on what 5/4/11? And to when
Does the D/L of the WU have to be After the start time or
Can we start early and buffer
Only WUs downloaded after May 4, 18:00 UTC will count toward the challenge. Also, WUs must be submitted before the end time of 18:00 UTC on May 13 in order to be counted toward the challenge.
I think it's best to set your PG preferences to TRP LLR only, and set the BOINC client to "No new tasks." Abort and flush any tasks in your queue. Then at 18:00 UTC, switch BOINC to "Allow new tasks" and hit "Update."
Then be sure to also flush all completed WUs before the deadline at 18:00 UTC on May 13th.
:fireboun: Now that it's warming up where I live, I'm taking down my GPU rig for the summer. I will resurrect it in June for the 24 hour CW Sieve Challenge, though!
This will work fine if you only have a few boxes but I think Lauren needs a different approach. Two possible solutions are:
1. Attach to PG ahead of time and set resource share to 0. Make sure that only TRP is checked and only use CPU is checked. At the start set the resource share to something like 10,000 and do a project update on all computers.
2. Go ahead and attach and set the keep work for additional days to 0. You should only have 1 WU per core and when it is done it is replaced. Not the most elegant solution but it's what I use.
If my math is right, 1800 UTC should be 11am Chicago time.
Update.
My math in the previous message was wrong.:o
1800 UTC is 1300 CDT.
For anybody that needs to convert time for where they live, here is a handy converter.
I've been running some test WUs and they are taking 20 - 21 hours on a Q6600.:eat:
What is "TRP is checked" :bang:
Edit
oups I think I figured it out
The Riesel Problem
The countdown has started.
