Ooo nice, 5 million, I missed that myself! Onward and upward!
I'll shut down my home boxen tomorrow for one week because I'm on vacation in Greece.
Work boxen will stay online halftime...
Don't climb up to #4 without me :D
well, I'm back again, Karpathos was great! The Mythos there too :D
and tomorrow we will be at #4!
broke into the top 300 overall yesterday, onwards to the top 250 and maybe even the top 10 in the team.
Congratulations all on taking 4th place!
 maefly, here's your chance. My farm goes away forever in less than 2 weeks. :Pokes: Can you make up 78 million Gnodes before the end of the project and knock me out of the top 10? Go for it!
BlisteringSheep, I hope you have a wonderful time at your new job.
Hopefully it will be more rewarding and relaxing than the last.
yeah dude, this has been a while in the making right ?
I seem to remember talking to you about it last year some time.
Hope you have a GREAT time at the new job, you deserve it.. !
Bok
Thanks for all of the well-wishes.
Yeah, everything got sidetracked because of all of the health issues & surgery complications. But I'm finally improving, and can't have my next surgery until next year, so went ahead and took the plunge (today was my 14 1/2 year hiring anniversary). I'm really excited, and think I'm going to be a lot happier overall, but I'm sure going to miss the massive farm!
Thats it I'm Put this team on a strict training routine 5 years to climb 792 is terribleQuote:
a five year old post... and we climbed 792 places until today
Thats it No more gaming charting Or emailing Just Crunch crunch crunching :rotfl:
past and present for passing
600 million

I knew the end of a project brings out some big guns fighting for top spot, but holy mackeral!
MOOH! from team linux-de.org wants blood at over 4 Million per day!
Rank Team Days to Overtake
7 AnandTech 0.97
6 yoyo@home BOINC wrapper 1.96
5 Team Warped (OS/2) 4.33
4 Free-DC 6.33
3 Ars Technica Team Beef Roast 9.86
2 BugTraq.Ru Team. United power of xUSSR. 32.42
1 Dutch Power Cows 81.13
some serious mathematical issues you have buddy.
We are approx 300 million ahead and they are gaining at 4 million per day so just roughly that would be 75 days to get to us.
I'm sure with a little movement of power we can move that out a few days so if they can keep that up we can still take it into September.
Lots of ifs.
if - then - else -> every programmer knows :D
I didn't do the math, I know better...
That was from a stats site, and just reporting what I saw. ;)
That there be fighting talk, my little :sheep-emoticon:
:jester: :rotfl:
I am sure BlisteringSheep meant OTHER Stat Sites And Admins
Every one in the world Knows That Free-DC has the Worlds Best Most up to date and accurate Stats
In The World Run By the Best Admins that the World has to Offer
IB just had to go to other sites because our radar unit still has not been unpacked
on RC5-72 but have re-configured them for OGR again.
But of :dump: today to help out.
glad to hear you switched from RC5-72 to OGR :D
Any chance you guys can ramp up and get this project finished sooner?
linux-de.org is rapidly catching up.
The end of the project is almost over, within sight anyways, and, worthy of a boxen or two.
I should have kept my PS3 pharm a few months longer <sigh>
I have the remaining 3 PS3s on OGR now, which is good for ~60,000 per day.
If you have never run dnet, please consider it.
If you have a multi-core system, how about on one core of a dual or quad?
The time has come for the members of Free-DC to stay focus as much as we can on OGR until the project ends.
Then we can all go back to our favorite projects and take a break for awhile. :)
Warning to [email protected] You have Only 42 Days Till I :stopm: YOU :harhar:
You Better restart your :bigtrain:
*does a little self-congratulation dance* :banana::banana:
Have just passed Five Million Gnodes overall, and Four Million for Free-DC! :|party|::|party|:
Am quite pleased :) Has taken a looooooong time!
Nice!
Looking here as Stubspace 6 is closed out it seems the transition to 7 is already underway, but if I read it correctly the same amount of stubs are being completed which infers the size of the stubs is the same in 7 than 6.....
That is as expected, as far as I knew. Stubspaces 6 and 7 both comprise of 5-diff stubs. It is just the "stub-length" which differs, and I believe this to have no clear correlation to crunch time.
Stubspace 6 = stub-length 1-98
Stubspace 7 = stub-length 99-111
I think stub-length can be defined as the sum of the given marks on the status line. For example:
25/4-22-13-12-17 = 4+22+13+12+17 = 68 (stubspace 6)
25/4-8-26-40-30 = 4+8+26+40+30 = 108 (stubspace 7)
Things should change for stubspaces 8 and 9 though.
Wouldn't it be horrible/hilarious if stubspace 9 is where the true optimal golomb ruler is?
It doesn't really matter. We wouldn't have known that it was the most optimal without checking EVERY stub anyway. This isn't like RC5-72 where you find the winning key and then quit searching.
Free-DC is having and OGR party.
Put all your boxen on OGR and let's see what we can do.
Looks like the stubs are being chewed through quickly.
:|party|:
:stretcher Power up them beasts and bring on the backups! :drink:
:hiya:
 Top 750, woo-freaking-hoo!
These milestones seem to creep up on you. I suppose sticking to a project for quite a few months helps rather :jabber:
I doubt very much I'll make it to another significant number prior to the end of the project, but I thought I'd have a spotlight moment for a few seconds :lmao:
A few days should give me 5million for Free-DC and 6million overall :)
Nice!
I found that with a lot of stick-to-it, many things can be achieved. :)
Congrats!!!!!
Bok
You the Man paleseptember  &
we have plenty of actives but we could always do with more.
The Cows are going to :dump: on Sept 1st but we definitely need to keep puching to ensure we make it as hard for Mooh as possible.
So fire them up if you have them we still need more power :Pokes::Pokes:
I'm going away on 28th August and don't return until 15th September so not only will my numbers drop but also I may miss the end of the project. :cry:Hope not though.
Still pushing as hard as possible with what little I have.
4th or 5th is great if you think were we started at the beginning :D

guruis back :D
Can we make it 30.
Come on everyone search out those old emails wake up a few more members for this fight to the finish.
bought a Scythe Mine cooler today and replaced the Intel boxed cooler and overclocked my E8200 to 3 GHz, should bring some tiny additional stubs :D
People, Lock n Load and pack some heat, get to it ladies, I can't do shit for ya by the time I got this box config'd and playing it will be over.
Smoke me a kipper, skipper I'll be back for breakfast.
OMG, the official stats pages don't work!!!!

There was an error processing your request.
Oh good, it's not just me :) The database has been out for at least the past seven hours (since midnight GMT)
Update: from any dnet stats page:
Of course, I think they mean bovine's plans, which say the same thing as the announcement.Code:Stats are unavailable
Sorry, but stats are down at the moment.
There has been an unfortunate hardware failure that has brought stats temporarily offline.
But don't worry, because all completed work will continue to be counted and reflected on stats once they are brought back online.
For more information, check the .plans. Particularly, look at decibel's .plan
Check back later.
I think we broke the server with our surge :)
