That's great news! I have an 640Mb Geforce 8800GTS that's just dying to join in the crunching :rotfl:
So only 8-series cards onwards at best. I haven't got any hardware like that, I do my gaming on consoles. Oh well, hopefully it will bring another big boost to the project.Quote:

I'm building a game box for my nephew this week-end that will have a 640Mb Geforce 8800GTS :)
The 640 8800GTS is an extremely nice card. Mine runs smoothly, quietly, delivers phenomenal performance. And it's still sitting in the sweet spot for the price/performance ratio. :clap:
I do have a pair of them.
I'll give the client a go, but heat output will be a concern.
The new NV cards will be faster still.

well if i read this right then the cuda software will decide whether to run apps on CPU or GPU. So massive performance increase, and points too!!
This is not the case with folding@home at the moment, but hopefully this will be invisable to BOINC
