A previously used handle was found but it was invalid.

Just downloaded the new 145 client and, after (slowly!) uploading all buffered results have tried to kick it off, only to be met with the above message.

I can still login to distributedfolding.org with my original handle, but the new client steadfastly refuses it. Hmph!:swear:

Can you post the exact error mesage you are getting in the error log?

There is no error in the error log - just the expected "Starting foldtrajlite built Jun 7 2004"

I noticed my upgraded clients were not using any CPU, so I ran foldit.bat in a DOS window. The first time I did this (when handle.txt was present) I got:

"A previously used handle was found but it was invalid.
Please enter a valid handle.
Enter handle:"

At this point the client has deleted the handle.txt file and any further attempts to enter my valid handle result in:
"Please enter the handle exactly as you received it upon registration at http:\\www.distributedfolding.org (or type 'quit' to abort). Enter handle:"

Which is repeated until I enter quit.

First try to recreate the handle.txt file with your handle in it. If that fails, send me your handle to trades@mshri.on.ca and I will check for anything suspicious in the database.

Thanks Elena - I already tried that. No luck. Handle on its way.

I was able to start folding with new client by starting fresh in a new folder... Did not get handle error...
