Looks like I picked the wrong time to take a look at DF again... :bang:

You can also run the command line version as a Service, which means it will run all of the time in the background (not just when you are logged on as the Administrator).
See the readme1st.txt file...
Yeah, what happened to the 3rd team?
At one point earlier on in the project we had three teams in the top 10....
Ni!
Of course some teams have real leaders who have little or no production... like this one
Ni!
How do you do that in a batch file?
(If I can get this to work 100% reliably I can bring a few more workstations onto DF part-time)
Hi lemonsqzz.
It is not our intention to be anything more than a nuisance :jester: and/or to stimulate other teams to greater effort (look at the recent output of TSF!)
I think the guys coming...
NAI AntiVirus caused the same problems on my machines until Howard provided the DFPTEMP variable.
Some systems showed over 30% improvement when the AV was excluded.
Ni!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
1) Many of us were jumping around before that post. :jester:
2) Dyyryath invited us to visit - if we had viewed his post as an attempt to make us switch teams...
It sure is better than being second
Anyways, we are also 22nd, 327th and 402nd, so we jus plain don't care :haddock::jester::rotfl:
Ni!...
I can't remember if this is fixed or not, but I got caught by it in the past so I'm going to mention it here.
If you have used -df and have generated more than six sets of structures, make sure...
That reminds me of one of my developers who complained that there wouldn't be any problems with our applications if the users would stop using them the wrong way!
The 'ground rules'...
I'm on a team with one of them (M2K+1) and I find it spurs me on to produce more!
I can set myself little challenges like "Can I exceed 1/2 of his output today?" :rotfl:
If I was way out...
I've looked at the values being achieved and they are very modal - in our team apart from 59.989998 seven times, I can see 61.439278 three times, 64.337830 four times, 67.236374 four times, etc ...
It is conventional to reduce TTL to around 3600 about 24 hours before a significant IP change and change it back to 24 hours at least 72 hours afterwards. This will slightly increase the load on the...
Excellent news!
If possible, could you also add a parameter into the service configuration file to perform the same function for those of us using net services on the Windows platforms?
...
I see a distinct slowdown and pointer jerkiness (even on the fast Xeon systems). I became convinced that it was caused by interaction between DF and the NAI AntiVirus client and did some experiments....
I think I've got the other half of that mp3!
This could be a bad deal though M2K+1 - SETI units can be bought and sold on eBay, but I've never seen over-stretched bands there, so they must be...
I would love to, unfortunately due to the nature of the technology we develop we are pure Micro$oft/Intel :bang: (the latter helps loads for DF tho' ).
I'm beavering away on using...
Ok, I bit the bullet and ordered a T1 link today. Will be a few weeks in coming, but should sort out the bandwidth issues at my end ( especially if there are only 100% more results to upload...
Does 200% faster mean 3 times as many results to upload?
That will be a real pain on my existing bandwidth. :(
Will the download interval take into account the speed (or even be user settable? ...
 Thanks for the link  - I'll experiment on the home farm first. If it works it'll solve several problems for me in one go.
I've got plenty of 24/7 workstations at work, but I didn't...
Sorry, I'm a bit late on this one - we got hit by the Frethem virus and another more destructive unidentified one using the same propagation mechanism and it has taken days to clean up (six systems...
Nooooo!
That means I have to say Ni! and Ni :bang:
I stopped DF for the CASP season because the time difference between the UK and Canada meant that my boxes always lost most of the night after the changeover. (The changeover usually ends after the...
Two teams?
Oh no! :o Am I on the wrong team? :scared:
Nope - looks like I am on both of them :D ... and I wouldn't even sniff crack, let alone smoke it! :smoking:
Ni!
