Thanks for reminding us again. I think most of the forumists know it by now though.
I was talking about abandoned tests that were reissued 10 days after they were abandoned. Some claim they can...
I have seen several other posts regarding this, but no answer (only guesses). This leave the issue open for speculation. I think this is a bug that cause tests to wrongfully be abandoned. At least...
Thanks for the information regarding FFT step increase and the "c" in cEM. This is only the second FFT increase as long as I have been with this project. I didn't know how regular they were.
There...
The cEM/s is dropping in my clients. They are running on AMD XP.
I can also see this in the overall project stats window, around the the end March. Does anybody know the reason for this?
I don't know if it will work, but I have just switched of the "transmit intermediate blocks" in the config dialog. I guess it would help because all of my hangs has occured when a block was finished....
For whom it may interest: I tried my two computers on the OGR project. The performance ratio between the AMD K7 Athlon 650MHz and the AMD K6-III 450MHz dropped from about 5 in this project, to about...
I run WinXP on a K6-3 450MHz, the last proth test was completed in 17 days and 8 hours. Compared to my Athlon 650MHz, that completes a proth test in around 3 days and 12 hours, it seem as if the K6-3...
I have the exact thing regularly happen to two of my machines running winXP :(
I just made an excel sheet with web queries that check these things out. If my calculations are correct: A prime found for k=21181 will now be the 6th largest prime, for all others it will be the 5th...
This loops back to MAD-ness and Nuris's suggestion in the Size of next rime found thread. It would be interesting to see the size of the largest proth number currently being tested, on the stats...
There are already, as of now, reported back results for n above 3M. My first first number above 3M was recieved by my K6-III 450MHz, which will probably check out the number within a couple of weeks....
I think Nuri has good suggestion. The smallest possible prime number is very static.
I really like this stats.
Impressive!
I have been used ZoneAlarm for years on a win2k machine and have never had problems with it (or else I would have stopped using it).
The normal procedure when starting to use a new program that...
This is an interesting question, not being into mathematics myself.
As far as I understand it, if one of the remaining k's is a Sierpinski number then there will be no prime found for any n of...
It happens on one of my clients running Windows 2000. All of the others run windows XP and they do not have this problem. Two of them are connected to the same LAN that the one having this problem.
I have set the affinity the last days without seeing a significant increase in the rate.
I can however imagine a situation where both SB clients for a short period are switched out of executing...
I have now checked my IP addresses both at home and at work using both of the above methods, in all cases the ip address is linked with the correct country.
Maybe Henrik is right. Maybe it is the...
I just looked up my home ip-address, it got to the correct country. I have steadily produced more than 300K/s at home, that is more than my total country rate.
I will check my work ip-address...
I see the point. The speed difference I observe can be explained by the operating system getting into a state where it switches the two clients a lot between the two CPUs.
Thanks again.
I don't usually do that. I haved tried it and found it not to implove things. It looks like both processors always are fully used.
However, I will try it some more.
Thanks!
I second Scarblac.
I submit from the one major provider in Norway at work and from another big provider at home and none are registered to my country.
We are participating in this project for a...
I examined the issue with my 2 duals today. When running in single cpu mode or only one client in dual mode, the rate is about 170K for the MP2400 machine and 140K for the MP1600. When running two...
I do also have a strange case of low speed rate. I run dual AMD MP1600 at 1400MHz w/fsb@100MHz at work and currently get around 2*120K cEMs/s. Then I aquired a dual MP2400 system running at 2000MHz...
