The Marie Sophie Germain Challenge 2012 starts in 3 days (April 1-3). It is a 48-hour challenge, starting at 18:00 UTC on April 1.
I've been playing around with some Amazon EC2 virtual machine...
Congrats to him!!
And the stats look like they are all getting right back to normal as well. Cheers!
I finally got around to doing this, and it totally worked. The temp came down 10°C on the middle card, and both are now running happily at ~67°C.
That's a good idea. I think I will remount the 3" case fan 90° from its current location. That way it will blow air right down the middle of the cards, instead of across the top of them.
Good to know. I'm using two Zotac GTX460 cards (768MB). I have an open-air "case" for my rig, so airflow is less of a concern.

72 hours.
This one's nice for North American time zones. 0530 UTC is 9:30 PM in California for me. Kick 'em off before going to bed and let it ride!
Final challenge is less than two weeks away: Winter Solstice Challenge (PPS Sieve) Starts December 19 @ 0530 UTC.
I just discovered BOINCpe, and I'm going to use it to add some firepower to the...
I've got my machines going on the Leonids Challenge. Just turned in the first eight WUs--they're taking about 24-27 hrs each on my hardware.
Looks like we'll hold #22 overall? I think Dutch Power Cows and Aggie The Pew pass us, but we pass Picard and Team China?
Nice push at the line to beat L'Alliance Francophone & Crunching Family!...
I'm going to join enderak over at Five or Bust Double Check after this challenge: http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=3628&nowrap=true#40678
I've just got one more in me. Timing wasn't on my side in this one.
I've got three WUs that should finish in a couple more hours, and eight more that should finish in a couple more days. Then that'll be it for me. All the rest won't meet the contest deadline.
Here...
I flushed some completed WUs and jumped up to #92. But now it will be at least a couple more days before I produce anythings else... A big factor in this challenge will be how many WUs you can finish...
This one's really a "set it and forget it" challenge. There won't even be any stats to see until tomorrow. I keep checking BOINC out of habit, but it's just "2 hours out of 100 elapsed..." Right. I...
I've got 16 cores chugging on it. The slowest of them will only complete one WU every 9 days. The fastest claims it will take 70 hrs per WU. We'll see.
Strange that there's no forum thread for this challenge, like there has been in the past? I assume it is still on? I'm starting 14 cores on PPS LLR, assuming that it is.
Edit: Sorry, there is a...
Yep, I'll pile on it.
I've got my GPU rig dusted off and chugging. It kept crashing and not POSTing last night, so I'm not sure how stable it is. Fingers crossed. If it goes down while I'm at work here, it's down for half...
I'm bringing my 2x GTX460 rig out of the closet especially for this. And I'll have some CPU on it as well.
By the way, Happy Birthday to Bigred today!!
:birthday:
Just noticed this on Free-DC's front page.
I use Boincstats BAM, so I just changed my Primegrid prefs to CW Sieve in preparation for the next challenge. When my clients refresh, they'll continue with any TRP LLR WUs that they have, but...
I've put up the "No new work" sign, and I think I'll get a few more done just under the deadline.
:rock:By getting 200 team points for 15th place, I think we're going to jump 6 or 7 spots in the overall standings!

Don't worry- that pending credit will all tally for you and for Free-DC in the end. They are just WUs waiting for a quorum of other results for validation checking.
15th looks pretty solid....
:hifi: Woohoo! More cores!
