And the FreeBSD version rocks Sir Mikael :)
Going to start a guess for the next found prime. Here it is...my guess...and let's see how close I get to it:)
k=555459 n=6212146
Now that I look at where the test are...shouldn't have to wait...
1. Run the new client
2. Change the 12 to 11 in the first line
3. Delete the k=5359 and the n's that belong to it.
Ok..now what are the speeds with 11 k's:)
Boy I'm happy for you guys...however...Mikael already took care of his end..now it's MikeH who has to work overtime for that gap analysis to work...
Ceselb..Is there any speed differences?...try running it with 12 k's still in. Didn't know if he kept or dropped the SoB tweaks in the newest version that can do either kinds of numbers.
After Mikael changed a few things around in Proth_sieve for us at Riesel Sieve I believe the hardcoded k's were taken out..since we have 99. I believe the new versions will look for a sob.dat or...
The name of the project is Seventeen or Bust. The reason was simple. There was 17 remaining k's to find a prime for to prove they weren't Sierpinski numbers. Fast forward to today.
Over at the...
I'm saying 17 Riesel numbers...but I think I'm a little on the biased side:)
I do realize what a monumentous task it is though...we should be down to 50 k's this time next year with the way our...
Mike,
I forgot about the gap analysis program. Yes this would cause a problem there. The speed changes were run on the same machine for the same range. Really you can talk to Ceselb about that....
Ok...after taking the weekend off I finally got around to pulling some factors out of the Sob.txt. Using the available data from the nodupes_something_something_whatever.txt...I yanked out the...
Currently I'm looking at a relationship between k mod 30 and k mod 7 relating to found passed primes for Riesel Sieve. It's a little more complicated than that but it's my start. I wanted to see...
Paul,
We are currently running a sieve built by Paul Jobling. I asked a while back about maybe helping you guys out and also K=15 because what's a few more K's when you are sieving 101 of them...
Those that Complain the Loudest, do the least --B2uc 2003
I'm currently starting a project off from scratch. When you begin something of this nature you find that no matter how smart you think...
Run Windows update so your machine can download the .net update and upgrade from MFC70.dll to MFC71.DLL
Cheers,

Had a PC in the shop getting w32.Blaster.worm strain C yanked from it...so it's sitting here all week while the owner is off on vacation...so I decide to install SOBSieve on it to benchmark the P4...
I was about to ask the same question..until I read your post...what do we do with these little nuggets of future gold? They are just setting in a text file waiting to be turned in when the sieve...
Personally I think we are overdue on 55459 and 5359. I think we should be about to the point of where 10223 should fall. If my basic math skills are correct..if these three should fall to Primes...
I was just looking over some old Sierpinski sites and over at the riesel number sites and then went on to look at numerous so called distributed computing efforts. The SoB project sure has come a...
So if we put the numbers in order of probability...or weight...it would look like this:
K Weight Status
44131 0.31 Prime Found
54767 0.28 Prime Found...
Hmm...wonder with that much memory...if you could have SB running on one CPU and P-1 factoring on the other...and pull some benchmarks...because P-1 factoring is such a memory hog it could truly...
You stare at all the computers keeping your grandmother on life support and wonder how many extra cycles you can suck off them without hurting grandma.
Just kidding...we don't have a QNX...
Next question...which of the myriad of versions of Linux are you using? Seems a shame to have so much power and not be running BSD on those badboys:)
How much RAM you got in those things? Each CPU have it's on Swap file....and so on...
Mystwalker
Can't sleep...was just reading over some of your old info and came across this at the bottom....probably read it 5000 times already...but let me ask a question.
Wild stab in the...
Question:
How come my sieve scores page: http://www.aooq73.dsl.pipex.com/ui/3962.htm Doesn't have all the cool stuff like most peoples? All I have is High Scores and Most Recent Finds....nothing...
