I tried getting the test version to run on one of my machines. I had been running the Redhat 7.1 Intel compiler verion of the client. The new executable (also supposedly for Redhat 7.1) immediatly...

There is a bug in the Linux client. Note that adding the -qt switch allows the upload to work just fine.
Hmmm... The client creates files of the form <handle>*.bz2 as it uploads, so maybe you could count the number of such files (with the help of the wc command), and then you would know how many units...
I thought we would be trying to minimize crease energy. But looking at the charts for the top ten results it is clear that the client is making no effort at all to minimize crease energy. None of...
I'm using the Linux client (Intel Compiler) and tried uploading work for the last protein using the -ut switch. This was from a batch file that had always worked fine. The program got to where it...
There are some work files that start with your handle but which have other endings. In Linux I use:
<handle>_*
fold_*
filelist.txt
I suppose in windoze one could use "*.* "instead of "*" to...
It looks like we'll hit the goal tuesday afternoon. So when is the next update?
My upload script is struggling to upload work -- much like when that rogue web server was causing problems. I'm also having trouble browsing http://www.distributedfolding.org/
:(
Angus, are you running more than one instance of the client on all the boxes that are having trouble? Did you tell each instance to use a different directory for its temp files?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the current DF server setup can only collect data for one protein at a time. Thus, once the server is set up for the new protein, it can't save...
When uploading, I always use the -ut switch. It then uploads and stops. If it didn't upload everything, then it needs to be run again until it finishes.
I'm uploading now. I guess the server is back up.
Someone on our team had a similar problem with a cable ADSL connection. The connection was usually good, but at a certain time of day it became flaky for a while. He would often end up with the...
Perhaps there's something on that system which is using CPU time, but which is cloaking that usage so that it doesn't show up on the graph.
There is a trick that lets you do a test division by several small numbers at once. If one number is divided by another, and both those numbers have a common factor, then the remainder will also...
It may take a little time to get everything working again. The important thing is that he's decided to bring back statsman.

Ignore the Maketrj numbers. Add the two Foldtraj numbers together. That sum tells how long it takes to fold a standard piece of work.
What is the goal for the current protein? The official stats page still says 5G. But that goal was set for the previous protein, which crunched nearly twice as fast.
If the real goal is 2.5G,...
:bs: WRONG! :bs:
Purging the client is NOT the same as deleting filelist.txt. Purging the client leaves it in the same state it would be in if you were to upload normally. When the client is...
The way I do it is:
1) Remove the foldtrajlite.lock file.
2) Wait for client to stop.
3) Copy the work files to another directory (filelist.txt, and files starting with fold_* and <handle>*)....
I've only tried it with Biostar M7VIT pro motherboards, but it works great with them.
