Ah - thanks for that, SmallFry.
Hi everyone,
I've just checked one of my rigs running the test client, and I've noticed that the last 22 generations all have had exactly the same value for energy - 34.249.
Is this within...
No problem, Howard - thank you for letting me know so promptly. :)
The new client does seem to be about 15-25% faster on my rigs, but so far I'm not seeing any lower scoring - hopefully they will...
I've just uploaded my first 50 generations using the new test client, and I see a slight problem with the scores awarded.
The test client runs 100 structures/generation, so the scoring should be...
No, but there's plenty of grad students who could.
That is just not true. If this project did not allow caching, then yes, but those who noticed there was a problem and immediately went...
The above statement gives me great cause for concern. One of the big plusses about this project has been the approachability of the people running it, and the fact that they listened and acted upon...
I've just managed to upload 750 generations without a hitch. :D
Thanks for the fast repair. :)
Fortunately the problem didn't generate a "missing generation error" for me, although it has done for one of my team-mates.
I'll run -nonet until things are sorted. :)
I've tried four times to upload this morning.
I can get a few generations through, but it is very slow and erratic.
Shortly afterwards, I get a "cannot connect to server - will try later"...
As of now, the connection is very flaky. :(
I'm holding on to 1,000 generations until I know for sure they'll get through without any hiccups.
I have run 18 complete 250's on my main rig, and everyone started with 39.990 for the first generation.
Saying that, I've had everything ranging from 3.26 up to 7.81 for each completed 250, so...
I agree with everything you say, Paratima - if they'd only divert their skills to something useful
I very much doubt that anyone is going to be there at 5am to power up again. :D
Does anyone know when the servers are scheduled to be restarted?
Way to go m8! :D
I'll be interested to know how *nix compares with BG's US, I mean OS! :o
Thank you for your kind words, Richard. I hope to have the Fleet back in harness soon too.
I see another Scot - are you anywhere near to Tom?
Meady, who would love to move to Scotland if he...
Hi FoBoT,
If you're really a "fixer of broken things", would you mind hopping across the pond to try and mend the rest of the MeadeFleet?
I have one ship fully functioning (and crunching like...
Thank you for the welcome - it's always good to make new friends!
I think the XP1900 (for the price) is one mean piece of kit. I used to be an Intel only chap until I discovered the forums, and...
:D :D :D
It's got a XP1900 CPU, 512Mb RAM, on a FICA Mobo. 133A chipset.
64Mb videoRAM Radion graphics, and running W2000. Nothing else installed on it (yet), so all the resources are devoted...
Very kind of you - don't mind if I do. Cheers! :D
The Fleet is currently one, but a very fast one. I benchtested it using Seti, and it crunched about 9WU/day.
It's now doing G@H, and...
Hi Folks,
I just thought I'd drop by and say "hello" to all you good people.
I'm as yet undecided about whether or not to "switch", but I thought I'd better post something, if only to start my...
