well, both louie and i are stumped.. dave looked at it briefly last night and it confused him too. it seems to be an issue with perl, and we're going to work on it some more later tonight..
You can send me the core, but grab test2 and send me the core from that file too.
note to self: chmod file correctly.
should be able to grab it now at http://linux.redbird.com/~alien88/sb.120.test2.bz2
linux sb1.2.0 test#2
Generate core files with the above client and send to mike@divide0.net
Thanks,
Mike Garrison
Does it dump a core file?
if not, ulimit -c unlimited .. then run it, it'll dump a core file, e-mail that core file (compressed please) to mike@divide0.net
thanks!
Okay, that's fine then.. let me know your results.
trying to figure it out...
I've compiled a TEST version of 1.2.0 for linux.. download it here:sb.bz2
just bunzip2 sb.bz2 wherever you have your sb stuff and run sb like normal.
note, it's test. it's not official (yet)...

Okay.. all done. let me know if anything seems broken
There was / will be some brief downtime for a kernel upgrade..
Can you post some of the logfile and also what distro, what release, and what kernel version?
Thanks,
Alien88
Yeah, this is the one known bug with 1.2.0 ... its fixed in 1.2.1 but 1.2.1 is beyond broken which is why it was pulled..
If you are using 1.2.0 then you are fine, we pulled the download links to 1.2.1 because it is too broken to use.
Heh, well, 1.2.1 had a bugfix that was supposed to fix some things but it introduced a major bug (of not being able to connect to the server)..
Hmm.. Does it detect the CPU properly? (Look at your logfile)
As far as I know the windows version 1.2.0 is fine, except for the exit problem (but that's rare..)
Version 1.2.1 is obviously broken. Please do not use it... we will release a working binary once we fix the bugs in it.
Thanks and sorry,
Alien88
Okay, yes, the linux v1.2.0 and .1 are broken, i've removed the download links for now until we can fix the problem and compile a new client.
SB v1.2.1 for linux with glibc 2.2 is [removed link because of bug]
Fixed. Don't know why that one died..
Give it a try.. sbp.pns.net is listening on ports 80, 8080, 22, and 3128.
Also, This prime is also the largest non-mersenne prime on record.
Would you like me to setup sbp.pns.net to listen on port 3128?
