    What is a block?

What is the technical definition of one block in an SB test? Is it a certain number of iterations?

IIRC, one block equals 250M cEM.

I'd like to be able to choose blocksize myself in a future client. I'd like to increase it, such that it takes several/many hours to complete (whatever CPU speed is). This reduces the amount of blocking for DNS, server issues, local connectivity issues etc (and hence gains some efficiency for the client too), and as a side issue reduces the load on the server somewhat, once enough clients do this. In fact, I'd be quite happy to have it increased without being able to choose the value myself.

YOu know that you can not submit intermediate blocks, correct?

I realise you don't get any short term stats but everyonce in a while you'll see a large spike.

Sure I mostly do this - but it's not very good for spotting dead machines.

As you say you miss out on stats on the website, but there are also bugs in the client that miscalculate the time left field if you swap this setting during a run.

    Minor but annoying.

What I really want is a half-way house...
