Seems to have been down for about 1/2 hour as of this post.
If you're getting ZZZ's now, you're not alone. Died around 8:30 EST tonight.

Rollin' again. Thanks, Graeme.

Really, REALLY down now. How come such inconsistency?

Give it a kick
Must be a very sleepy day in Texas, nobody much interested in solving scientific problems. :sleepy:

If we all pulled out of this project, they may get their act together, I've been down for over 2 days. is there another port we can plug into?
What a waste of a good project.
I don't crunch this project at the moment, but when I did, I'd have a secondary project in the wings. You simply put Eon at a higher priority than the other project. Eon gets all the power it can handle and when it goes down the secondary project takes over.Originally Posted by alpha_fruit

I run F@H 24/7 and decided to do e0n as it ran very well with F@H. At least F@H keeps chugging along with no problem. If e0n doesn't get its act together, I will get it off my machines.
After a long conversation with Graeme, the project head, I'm coming to understand this project a lot better.
When it sez, "Failed Connect", the server is definitely blitzed & needs a kick. At these times, cussin' is allowed. This doesn't happen very often.
When you're just getting ZZZ's and it sez stuff like, "Failed - SendIdaMessage" or "Requesting Assignment", but not getting one, then the server has collected enough client data and is thinking about its end of the problem and there is literally nothing for the clients to do but wait. All the client processing is complete until the server says "Go" again. This can take from 15 minutes to almost an hour!
It sounds dumb, and I think there should be something they could do to keep the clients busy more of the time, but there ya go. It actually is a tough computational problem. The admins know it's a pain in the butt and are working on it and that's all that can really be said right now.
I like a project that keeps my small pharm busy and allows me to rack up the points as fast as I can manage, but this project just isn't there because of the very nature of the processing. So, I've decided to grit my teeth and bear with it. The science aspect of this is too important to NOT work on, IMO.
I reserve the Right to Rant, though, whenever it stops!

PS. I have NO idea why it's so tough for the project folks to say something like, "This project runs like a bat for a while and then it has to pause for up to an hour while the server thinks things over and then it'll run again, so expect delays." These are the science folks, who, when asked for the time, will tell you how to build a watch, probably atomic-powered.
See, Graeme, that wasn't so hard, now was it? Maybe you wanna put that quote on the home page?

Yes, that was a good answer, I like it. I will keep e0n going and cross fingers, toes and legs hoping it will continue with all the he!! i've been giving it.
I know it's a worth while project and I know stuff happens, but tell us, so we don't sit here and drive our family crazy and cussing so loud the dogs leave home.
OK, I'm tellin' ya.
Their whole dang server system is in the weeds today since around 4:00 EST.
Who knows? They've been notified.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Problems for the past day and a half, this is a little maddening.
She's down again. The proper authorities have been notified. The usual suspects are being rounded up.

It was running solid for a good day.

I was going to comment on how well the client had been running but it appears to be down.

Silverthorne,
I think that was just the normal up-down cycle of things. If you ever see the message "Failed - Connect", THAT means it's really down.

Down again.
and ZZZ again.
/ed - withdrawn - it is still going. Just really slowly. plenty of ZZZs -ed/

Decided to start running this project again and guess WHAT????
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's only a few WU's have been processed, keep getting a dll error too.
I may just stop this again and forget about it. Could someone tell me what's wrong this time?
I am a Lady Knight Who Says Ni!
Someone kick the server up....it's down for the last 4-5 hours....
Prob. My fault I pointed like 90 cores here when I woke up this morning Sorry
Server is up and running....
