Ship your computers to me, and I will manage them...
Yeap, as some of you might have seen, I am no longer the Top Dog in Dailies in Rosetta or Dimes or even DPAD. Well, the reason is that there has been alot of changes at work and I will need to re-organize alot of stuff and network around (consolidating two datacenters into one datacenter). All this work has made me lost focus of DC and I couldn't be bothered with checking all those hundreds of clients anymore. Sorry
But once we are done with all this re-org stuff and me having more time to focus on DC, I shall return to help the Team out in whatever project they need help with.
The Mighty PY 222 will return shortly after these messages.

And for your viewing pleasure!
That pic's got me all tingly. For shame, PY, for shame.
Very nice PY.. any specs on them boxes (sorry if you have answered this before)? This personal or a business (webhosting or something like that?) Also, what kinda cases are they; I dont see any power cables? Are there any weight limits on 2 post racks?(i'm asking... i have no idea) I worry about putting 1 server on a 2 post rack with no support in the back.. hehe
Thanks,
Ryan
Well, I've got P4 2.8GHz running on them. They are all for business because I sure as hell can't pay for the cooling or power for those puppies.Originally Posted by sTs950
Cases are from a company nearby. Don't know if I should post the name but if you are interested, PM me and I'll let you know.
Yes, definately weight is a problem when dealing with a 2 post telco rack. If you are going to co-lo your 1U box with a provider, do request for a shelve if you know your chassis is heavy. I know Dells are a beast when it comes to weight of chassis. I think they do it on purpose just to make the box feels about the right price you are paying for, if you get what I mean.
This has been one of my pet theories for years. I get used to moving around systems that I've built, then I have to pick up a Dell and WHOA! Them puppies are heavy! You are, indeed, paying by the pound.Originally Posted by PY 222
