We sure need. Fozzie, the following members are running Dimes or/and Majestic. I suppose they have not problems related with bandwidth limitations. So do you guys care to join Free-DC?

UltraVnc working overtime from this stupid laptop.....
Unlimited bandwidth on 100Mb connection but I`m stuck with 1Mb upload.
Still, another 10 instances here when I get it sorted out.
Still learning Micro$ free Virtual Server 2005. Can`t get the IIS to run the sharing properly so I`ve got to use UVNC instead of just straight browser access to sort the virtual machines. It would be a pain in the bum but my bum`s numb anyway from the jabs stopping my left leg falling off or catching fire while I`m stuck in this bloody chair
Ne`er mind, onwards and upwards Free-DC.

And greets to Cwhyl....nice to see you joining a good forum and DC team.
And Hi to Granny.....and any and all other Grandads and Grandmamas.
Thats cos the grand daughter is staying with us to "specially look after Grandpops" Luvs this lectric wheelie chair.....and the perch on the plaster cast she now has withing reach of the control box. Had to tape up the 2nd gear change switch cos otherwise we`d be doing wheelies for real and the furniture has enough gouges and scratces.
Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.

    Shish mate

you don't need to use VPC for Red Library, it's way easier than Dimes.

Create the 4 batch files in Pepe's How to start multiple instances provided by some evil Arsian. they work great and you can have 100 clients per workstation up and running in less thna an hour.

Cheers m8, hopefully will settle down so I can see what my output will be (probably not enough) before I tweak it a little...

Still think you need to 'convince' more people to take this one up - really does suit an average workstation with plenty of ram and any old broadband connection...

The VPCs are there Foz and I need to figger out the new, for me, Micro$ VMCs on the now freebie 2005R2 version which is a bit different to the older 2004 I was using. I`m still running Dimes cos the cost is low and so is DLV so they`re natural bedfellows.
Keeps me occupied anyway and I needed to see how it runs before I put it out full bore as with all new projects.
So, as I`m now 48hrs awake and 12hrs sleep cycling on minimum dose, it may just keep me sane to concentrate on other things than health, wealth (lack of), and the state of the Middle East. Damned sick of the news broadcasts...... and poor ol`Tonys had to put off his hols.....Arrhhhh poor thing.
Anyway, it`s running fine for now apart from a slight problem with setting some of the download links numbers on a couple machines.
Nice to see you back among the employed persons tho`Foz and not one of us slackers and wastrels bleeding the country gry and forcing the Bank to bang up the interest rates again.

    Shish

YOU DON'T use VPCS for Red Library

Just look at How to run multiple instances thread.

4 batch files and 50 minutes to sort out 100 instances per workstation and you'd be flying.

    Guys,

I had to shutdown my home machine due to bandwidth issues. My work machine is also down because I just started my holidays.

I've just joined up. Seems like a worthwhile thing to have going when I surf, and it doesn't take all that much crunching power from DPAD so why the hell not?
