Yeah same here. 16:37 when its actually 16:44.

I have a (nightly) ntpdate call in my /etc/crontab to keep my boxen in sync with the world.

Fixed it. Didn't realise ntpd hadn't been running since the memory upgrade.

Is there a Windows equivalent to that program?

All Windows box should sync with a time server if you set it up.

Just double click on the clock at the bottom right side of the screen and out pops a dialog box. Go to Internet Time tab and check the "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server".

Found it!!! Apparently, it was synchronized about 24 hours ago without my knowledge.(I have a permanent connection to the Internet)

Now that I know it's accurate to the second, I'm going to adjust my watch to agree with it.

Yeah, looks about 2 minutes out.

Maybe it isn't synchronised very often.

A cronjob once a day or at least once a week synchronising the time would be great

    Bok -

good chance the hardware clock on your server is having problems. ntpd will only update the time by a certain shift amount (usually in the neighborhood of 1-5 seconds) so that apps and logs don't get seriously confused. What time server(s) are you synching to?
