    Giving up... for now.

Too many issues with the project right now. I know it's an Alpha project but there is just too much wasted CPU time with bad work units, work units that aren't given enough time to complete, the cache being completely borked, and finally, work expiring after 1 week only.

Maybe in the future once a couple of these are worked out...

Me too. The only time the admin appears on the forum these days is to acknowledge bad WUs - he's ignored almost every other question.

It's an interesting project though, and one I'll certainly keep an eye on. Hope they fix the problems soon.

    Unhappy Agreed

don't fancy crunching a WU for 24 hours and then get computation error.

Alas poor Borg, I knew it Horatio

I wasted about a weeks worth of CPU time there... not something I like doing.

The admin's reconfirmed that bad WUs will get credit. I'm keeping a record of them all now so I can check on them.

I saw that... but I have to question it a little... without getting into details, this seems to open up a whole different can of worms. I think I'd rather he just flag the units as bad so they don't go out again and again and again and again. I've looked at a couple units that were taking over 30,000s and 8 or 9 different people returned them. Too much wasted CPU power there.

Well that was a quick month. Looks like Proteins@Home is next on the BOINC tour.
