How many digits are we going for

I know the record is 10^15, but what are we going for? Oh, and am I correct in assuming that each work unit calculates 250 million digits of pi and that the work unit numbers indicate what digit level is being calculated? Lastly, I'm confused about something I read a while back. Is it 10^15 base-10 digits or 10^15 base-2(binary) digits that's been calculated? Base-10 would indicate 3 and 1/3rd times as much work.

I've finally answered my own question 10^15 binary digits is the answer, and we're trying to double the record to 2*10^15.

I attempted to log onto the forum to request that they give progress reports similar to the "50%", "90%" benchmarks of Seventeen or Bust, but something went screwy with my attempt. Maybe someone else would like to try?
