if it gives a beep code, check the ram or video card, tight, working. also clear cmos.

While I was trying to get ecm to run on my Linux box, it froze up. After waiting about ten minutes for it to fix itself(I hate hard resets), I turned it off, waited about 5 seconds and turned it back on. Now all it does is go BEEEEEEEEEEP (pause) BEEEEEEEEEEEP (pause) BEEEEEEEEEEP, ad infinitum, it doesn't even manage to print anything on the screen.
This happened right after a hard reset. It's an AMD processor, rated at about 3000+, and I had recently taken out a Gig of RAM, leaving a Gig of RAM.
I'm really wanting to upgrade, so if something simply needs to be reset, I might just snail-mail it to the highest bidder with the promise to return their money if they can't fix it.

I need help you guys. Since I'm a retard at Google(IMO), I'm simply going to tell you guys it's a Just PC case with a new(not done by Just PC) MB and cpu, and probably a different hard drive than it originally had.
I have no idea how to use Google to research the beep code. I suppose I could go through every page that ("just pc" beep code) gets me, but since the case is so old I have no idea where it was originally bought or who originally owned it, I'm wondering if Google could help at all. I mean the Internet hasn't been a go to place for all that long.
jasong Ghost never told you go do a search
He told you to check your vid card and RAM chip to make sure they are seated right.
Also check your CPU fan plug it may not post if that is not plugged in also
and add it one stick at a time. Could be the slot or the stick.
Make sure it is FIRMLY inserted.
sorry, should've paid more attention.
My brother and his wife are coming tonight, so the earliest I can do this is tomorrow.
Hmm I had to read that twice, that reply was almost funny Jason, but only works if your British...

Now to remember my old computer specs..
As usual, I assume the worst and look like an idiot.
I wiggled the RAM in the Linux box, since it didn't budge, I thought."Hey, maybe it's bad." So I took RAM from another box and stuck it in there. Voila, perfect boot sequence. So, I said,"Hey, the RAM IS busted." But, just to be sure, I tried it in my non-Linux cruncher, and lo and behold, it booted.
So, all this trouble just because the RAM wasn't seated properly.
I am a major dufus.
we've all been there done that and most will probably claim no It's never happened to them.
Cripes I've blown on-board video modules cos I put the non-polarised header cable in the wrong way.
As long as you remember to check it more carefully next time then lesson learnt.
