Unhappy We have tried our best, but...

looks like we will be number 2 in the matter of days, and by the end of next month we will be number 3.

Of course if anyone happens to have enough spare computing power to kick out nearly 60,000,000 structures per week do feel free to donate them to the cause

Hey don't give up yet. Everybody needs to add the -rt command to their foldit.bat files. It makes a HUGE difference if you have at least 256 megs of RAM.

We aren't HALF bad! We held many powerful Teams off for a very long time.
I don't feel bad one bit. I also know we have several of our BIG HITTERS off doing other things.
Unless guru, FoBoT, xj10bt, Beth133, Scoofy12 and Condor decide to come back full strength, there is no way we can keep the lead. It would also be great if our other team mates would wake up and jump back in the arena to! :sleepy:
This client does not lend itself to large corporate farms very well. There is too much hands-on needed, so I do not blame them or hold them responsible in any way. In a month or so when the proteins stop changing every week, they might put more on the fire
Thanks to everyone for doing such a GREAT JOB!
Keep up the good work! If they let up, we'll zoom past them again.
Now if we could get Jodie AND KWSN_Millennium2001Guy to convert...

I've posted an invite to the Knight's taunting team to see if they can light a spark over here. Please don't take any of it seriously... they will just be having a bit of fun at your expense!

Does this -rt still work if you are using the dfGUI client to launch or does it launch the foldtrajlite.exe directly, bypassing the setting?

I am sure no offence will be taken. If the shoe was on the other foot we would do the same

Actually, looking at the production figures for the last 24 hours, I'd say that you guys will be in first place for at least the next 14 days, assuming nothing else changes.

Of course, I have learned that on THIS project, things are guaranteed to change when you least expect it.

Why don't you continue to celebrate your current 1st place position, and do what ARS has done to recruit many new members?

No problemo! Lemme show ya how that's done...

60M/week = 8.6M/day. xj10bt, FoBoT, and Condor should be good for 1.5M each. That leaves 4.1M / 30 of us = 136K/day/person. On just about any protein except the current massively slow one, that's about an XP1700+, lightly tweaked, of course.

There ya have it! Everybody except our Top 3 (who will already be doing their thing) buys/builds/borgs just one medium-fast new system. IronBits, in a fit of zeal, will build a couple of new 8-CPU, fuel-injected, turbocharged, bored & stroked, fully chromed, ported & polished Godzilla Boxen, and the competition will fade out behind us. Whattaya think?

The new dfGUI client v1.7 has a check box called "Use Extra RAM" that handles the -rt switch for you.

    Get it here... http://gilchrist.ca/jeff/dfGUI

We could each build ten new boxes, or maybe we could just arrange a trade with KWSN: we give them all of our Seti WUs (which would move them to fifth place from tenth) and they give us all their DF points.

How serious is this offer of Seti units?

Well, I can technically only offer my own units, so I'll trade my Seti units for your DF structures.

You're right, it may not be a fair trade. What else can you throw in?

I've also got 4 slightly used paperclips and 2 over-stretched rubber bands. A new TDK CD Mark permanent marker and 2 thumbtacks.

Also I could throw in half of a mp3 file that didn't finish downloading from limewire.

What else did you have in mind?

I think I've got the other half of that mp3!

This could be a bad deal though M2K+1 - SETI units can be bought and sold on eBay, but I've never seen over-stretched bands there, so they must be priceless

    FREE DC??

    NI!
    FREE DC...Who is he?
I remember Nelson Mandela from the Special AKA...Me thinks..
I believe you have so many members because you advertise yourselves as 'Free' ....In this Country ..i.e..ww do not think of that advertising ploy put forward by marketeers, and those dilbert like pastiches of psedo-humour.
If DC is some form of electrical conductivity...I shall forgive thee..
What is wrong with AC..250Mhz..Sine wave..
I think that this is a DC site...and will be reported to EEC Sexual Discrimination board on the count that the name ..per se implies a sexual persuasion which is not in keeping with my own moralistic and yet libertarian persuasions.
You mayest do your best to free 'DC'
But if you not free 'AC' also, then I shall have to summon my Barrister from The EEC world court, to address thesemantics of this issue..
I bet half of you thinkk Bertrand Russell was in GLADIATOR
    SCUMBAGS!

Well, I was kinda hoping to wait until this winter when the new Barton's come out.
Then it will truly be Hammer time!
If our top 5 were to put out 1 million a day each, they would not be catching us
FoBoT should be back from vacation very soon, and maybe he can get them motivated.

    Oh NO! Look! More Picardians!!

Quick, M2KGuy, move ALL your boxen over to G@H!!

Eukaryote and Ragnarog just moved over, putting KWSN in the #1 spot by about 23 million. It seems presumptuous to do this now, but

I tried the -rt switch on all three of my boxes. One would not run at all and crashed. The second one (512 ram, xp1800) ran for 10 minutes and crashed. I left them both off. I can sleep better now. No 7000 RPM fan to keep me awake.

Only my P4 2000 is still chugging. I only rarely see the effects of the -rt on this box. Time to pump it up to a gig
